There are two alarms in one unit. It is designed to be placed on a On the bottom, there is a metal contactact to pick up a leak in the floor or a flood as well as a temperature alarm if it is less than 40°F. This one is located by my sump pump crock on the floor. You get a warning before it becomes cold enough to freeze a pipe if the temperature is less than 40.
I believe that this won't work with a Ring Doorbell.
As of this writing, you are unable to change any of the settings, including the temperature. A sensor is set to alert once the temperature drops below 40 degrees F at the factory. The app does not notify users of higher temperatures. Additionally, the underside has water sensors that send alerts if they detect the presence of
Ring's device does not work with Homekit out of the box, just like all Ring devices. If you run Homebridge off a computer or Raspberry Pi, you can connect it to Homekit. You can find homebridge on the Internet. You can also check out the io website for more information. The Ring team also promised in June 2016 that Homekit compatibility would be integrated into the devices, but it has still not happened four years later. As a result, Homebridge is the best choice at the moment.

A RECENT UPDATE The year 2019 Ring has rolled out a feature which plays a short sound on the base station when an 8-bit message arrives. Since remote "Dome" alarms do not make noise, unless your base station is in your bedroom, you may not be aware that a leak is being detected while you are asleep and even if you have your phone on silent mode. However, emergency call automated calls will now be made and emergency contacts will appear on your contact list in the order listed by the central station. This week, I spoke to Ring, and they confirmed that the app has been updated and is ready to go on 3/12/2019. A RECENT UPDATE The year 2019 As Ring offered to add phone calls and other notifications as they felt that push notifications were not adequate, they contacted me and informed me they would do so. As well as detecting water, they will also alert the base station (auditory). We anticipate these enhancements will be ready by the end of February or beginning of Furthermore, a firmware update was released to correct the bogus low battery alert. The project is progressing! As soon as the additional notifications are made available and functional, I will edit the review again. It's a good product and it's a good size. Also like the fact that the battery is the same as those found in other Ring There is one bad thing Push notifications are the ONLY way to get A text, an email, a call, or an audible alarm (when the device is attached to the base station or by a third party) will not be accepted. A significant problem with the product is this Unlike a push notification, I/you will most likely not be woken up at night and will likely be missed during the day due to all the other things that push notifications come from. I have also had to call Ring twice for (2) of the 14 I bought are already complaining of low batteries after just two weeks of ownership.
At noon, I have mine set up there. In the early morning, at around 20am, my elderly dog wandered into the laundry room, peed on the sensor, and awoke me. Ring called me at 3 in the morning and I slept right through it. I am still in contact with my parents, but it is my backup contact The hydrant company came right away after taking the call from my house that was flooded in the middle of the night. In any case. After about 7 hours, I checked my messages and called my parents to let them know the plan had worked. The water sensor was supposed to do that, but it didn't I had no problems with it! I have included a photo of my old pup for reference (the photo is of my old dog, when she was a puppy).
As part of our alarm kit, the flood and freeze sensor was included. As someone who lives in Florida away from the water, I thought it was a bit of an afterthought. As far as I could figure out, I had to put it between our hot water heater and our extra freezer in the garage, figuring it could catch anything that leaked from either of them. It was to my great surprise that about two weeks later, I awoke to a robocall at 8am saying water had been detected in the house. It was as expected that I found the sensor in a small puddle of water in the garage. This was not happening to the freezer or the water heater. According to our neighbors, there was a crack in the exterior wall that allowed water from their sprinkler system to seep through. It was just by chance that I put the sensor in the corner of my garage where the puddle was located and I never would have noticed it without it. has been an excellent tool for us and has saved us from a bigger problem had we not discovered this unexpected issue. Thank you so much! I'm overjoyed!.
Yesterday, we received one Ring Flood/Freeze Sensor, and we are excited about it I was able to easily add the program When I tried to remove the battery strip, it was difficult to twist open the unit. If it says "cleared" in the Ring app, it's connected, much like the zwave First Alert Smoke/CO detector appears in the Ring app as well. The price of these is going to come down eventually so that I can have them under sinks and in other places around the house There are usually toilets, etc. behind the toilets. By turning on alerts, I can see what's going on Drop a drop of water on the metal contact underneath and then wipe it with paper towel I knew it works as soon as my phone got a notification when water touched it. The following are two things this sensor does not do that I would wish it did The sensor device itself made no sound at all when the water was dabbed on the metal contact on the bottom. So maybe it's just my imagination, but I got a silent phone notification alert when the water was dabbed on the contact, but it seemed I could not find a way for the application to alert me by audible means as well. We hope that feature will eventually be added to the Ring app. A water leak notification is one of the most important alerts that can be sent out if there is a If I am not able to hear an audible alert, it could take hours after I receive the visual alert before I realize what happened. I had to edit my review & The app has lost 1 star due to the lack of an audible warning either within the app or on the device. There is no need for a visual notification alert on the phone. The following are updates from the 5th In the latest Ring app update, now users may activate an audible alert on their phones instead of a silent In the course of test today, I put a little water on the metal sensors. I not only received an immediate notification with an audible alarm on my phone but the Ring monitoring service had a notice sent to my phone immediately alerting me that the water detector had detected water. The case was different the first time I tested it in January & February It is nice to see an I am upgrading from 4 to 5 stars as a result.
It has so far proven to be a great system. A critique of the Flood and Freeze Sensor can be found here. I don't know what to do with it. I found the SimpliSafe water sensors to be the perfect size for use I found it difficult to slide one under my refrigerator because the ring sensor can go most places but not all places. Towards the end of the trip, I had to pry my refrigerator away from the wall and place it behind the wall. The height of the ring sensor is at least twice as tall as the SimpliSafe water sensor, even though it's not a deal breaker.
