Questions & Answers

What kind of security does the system have against ?

Sincerely, there is no such thing as a secure system against It doesn't matter what they want in life, they will get it if they want it badly enough. That's all there is to it. How secure are they? Network security is only as good as the security on your network. Then you may be able to protect yourself from hackers, AT LEAST IF you manage to make your security BETTER than banks and governments currently do. But, average citizens don't need to worry about hackers since they are not that interested in them anyway.

What happens if the camera is mounted close to a window even if it is mounted outside?

recently acquired this camera, and I have tried it briefly (so far) with poor results. glass of the window reflects the infrared light back into the camera, even while the lens is pressed against it. As an outdoor camera, I'm working fine through the windshield of my car, so I don't know if it will work better if it is further away, or at an angle. I also bought a black light that works great through the windshield of my Besides that, the cameras seem to be working fine, so this is just testing

Can you tell me what kind of plug is on ?

There are two ends of the cable. One end is connected to the Mini Camera, while the other end is connected to the power source (that could be a cell phone charger).

Is it necessary to have a subscription for it to work, or is it possible to use it with your other blink devices and save clips?

You can save video to the cloud, just as you do with your other Blink cameras, if you are an existing customer. You do not have to be a subscriber. In that case, you get the trial subscription and must pay later. If you are not a customer, you get the trial subscription. You will not need to create a new Blink ID or cloud storage if you already have an ID for other Blink cameras.

There is a major flaw in it
3/5

In fact, I purchased the item to use as a baby monitor if it turned out to be a good product, I might get the My order arrived this afternoon, and setting it up was a breeze. Considering the price point, the quality of the picture is excellent. Despite the ability to view continuously, there is no option for me to do so. When you do not tap the "continue?" button, the live view from the app will automatically shut off after 30 seconds. I'd like to know more. " I never would have bought a Blink camera if I had known this ahead of time. As I work at night, watching my daughter on a Fire tablet is not feasible. By stopping to press a button every 30 seconds, I'd have to miss out on many important tasks. Although it's my fault for not recognizing it, I didn't remember reading any information about how long viewing would last, so I assumed it would be like the Foscam that I was seeking I would repurchase from Blink in a heartbeat if continuous viewing is ever added, but for the time being, I will return the product.

This was updated I found the cloud storage policy confusing for these smaller cameras, but once it was clearly explained, it was a great product
4/5

This was updated It was exciting to see these new smaller cameras announced, and I cannot wait to add them to my existing Blink system of five cameras. These would replace the XT/XT2 cameras that I had inside my house so I could offer the same kind of security to my neighbors. They can be used in additional outdoor spaces. It seems like a brilliant addition to the Blink camera ecosystem, since this camera is much more affordable and is ideal for indoor applications like mine where the battery power and weather protection are very important It would be a waste of time and resources to prove everything. My order for two was placed as soon as the books were released Here is the pack I intend to add. When I installed one of them, I found that the picture quality was less than satisfactory right out of the box, but as soon as I changed the video quality setting to "Enhanced," I found it to be comparable to XT2. As they use a new digital method of detecting motion (AI compares one frame to the next to determine if anything has changed), the motion detection is a little on the spot. In some instances, there will be very subtle movement, like a shadow crossing the viewing area, but moving across it won't (in other cases). The customer service rep I spoke with said that they are putting together an update to improve the consistency of the feature, which is going to be rolled out as an optional upgrade It consists of It's an air update since it's an electronic display I like the feature because it is based on a database. In the original review my bad rating was due to the cloud storage capability of Since all of the literature I found indicated that I would be required to pay a subscription for these cameras, I checked out the cloud storage feature. Due to its difference from the previous version of XT & XT In the past, I have been dissatisfied with XT2 systems. A Blink rep reached out to me to clarify the cloud storage situation after I posted my review. What I learned from my experience is As long as you already own an XT or XT2 system, you can easily add these cameras without paying anything extra. As long as you get your first camera from Blink and it is the first camera you get, then you get the free subscription up until December 31, Once you have payed $3/month per camera, you will no longer have to do so. It is planned for them to release a new sync module by then that will include an SD card slot, so you can save video clips locally without having to pay a subscription fee. It seems that they didn't intend for too many people to subscribe to the subscription plan, I think they see the SD card support as more of a selling point, but they had to piggyback it on the subscription plan We will back up the first adopters of these Mini cameras to the cloud storage until we have access to the new sync module. Because there are so many factories closing around the world right now, perhaps it took a while to get the sync module released at the same time as the Mini. happier now that this has been resolved, but I hope that they update the cloud storage and synchronization with it in the future The product pages should include subscription information, so that it is much more clear how things work. On the basis of the unclear information that is available online, I probably would not have purchased these if I'd looked at all of the available info prior to purchasing them. Ultimately, I was saved from this situation by the Blink representative who contacted me. During our phone call, he clarified all of my concerns, gave me a lot of information regarding the product, and answered all of my questions (I had a lot). It is important to note that the representative NEVER once asked me to change my review or take it down in any way, nor did he or she in any way artificially pressure He did an outstanding job so I changed my mind of my own accord. I was really taken care of when I had I have deducted one star for the confusion, but I have added three for my excellent experience with customer service. Getting a buyer for a good product is not as important as getting a customer that will be loyal to you for a lifetime. Blink has done a fantastic job of turning a disappointed (and misinformed) buyer into a satisfied one. To recap, if you already have a Blink system, you can simply buy these, and use them in the places where you don't need wireless. When you buy these as your first Blink set up, know that you will have the option of subscribing to a subscription starting in 2021 or simply to purchase them as a one-time purchase You can purchase a sync module with a SD card slot to store video clips at a later date.

Cameras that are great It needs key features but is missing them and appears to be designed for cameras with different features
3/5

It is my pleasure to preside over It was difficult to find any reviews for four cameras that I ordered, so hopefully this information will be helpful. In the past decade, I have used several different apps and programs to access and store my video streams, however I have never had an app that allowed me to view all of my cameras at once. This one requires you to select a camera and activate it individually to view real time results. These cameras are always on, so it was probably designed for battery savings. However, since the cameras are always on, this feature no longer serves any It's also a step backwards not to have the ability to view all of my cameras in a single window, even if I have them activated. The ability to see live feeds in multiple places has been available to me for years To zoom in on one of those cameras within the app, I have to select the camera layout and select the camera I want to zoom in on. The second problem is that technical support is at best poor. ), and the support tech said that he was unfamiliar with these cameras and asked someone else for a response. It was my first time doing that. For most, the IR light is not a huge issue, but I've had an indoor camera pointed out of a window for years since my front yard is quite well lit at night, and the camera's IR light stuck on makes it impossible to do that. Usually I don't review anything, but I wanted to make sure that people were aware of The app appears to have been remade and so the cameras may have been rushed My sincere hope is that the app will be updated in the future to address the live view concern specific to our Blink Mini purchases. Hope to hear from you soon! I hope you have a great week! A brief update After I reviewed Blink, I received a contact from them. There was a consensus among various experts that these apps would cause real-world harm if they were used in real-time A new update to the app is being developed to address the matter and it appears that this will happen in the near future. As an additional offer, they offered to send me an older model camera (without charge) that allows you to turn off the IR functions. When I asked directly if this was in exchange for changing my review they explicitly stated that they did not want me to change it. Even if it were just a hello, that would be great.
