Questions & Answers

Does the display on this model have true color, unlike the monochrome template display found on earlier models?

I have two of them in my house, one in the bathroom so I can see the weather as I get ready in the morning. My two screens are exactly the same as those in the picture. The one I bought from Acurite is an extra. The screen on this smartphone is the one I prefer most, since it is bright and has a switch on the side for setting the screen brightness to three different levels. dream of flying Drones, and I always monitor them to see what the weather and windspeed are in the area where I fly them.

The display and the outside unit must be not more than what distance? Is it necessary to place the sensor ?

There is a distance of 330 feet between the two locations. Make sure, however, that the display at the station is placed in an appropriate place. There can be a loss of signal as a result of walls and other things. What type of material your house is made of will determine how long it lasts. There is a lot of wood in my house. Despite my house's proximity to the street, the signal gets to the other end of my house without any problem (about 150 feet). Make sure that the display is not placed near computers, radios or any other electronic equipment. If your station is affected, it can cause interference. A station that is outside does not need to be shady anymore. Ideally, you want it placed as high as possible (ideally, on a pole out front, or ideally no lower than 5 feet up It is equipped with internal thermometer and hydrometer sensors, and an internal fan circulates air past the outside sensors so that the temperatures stay normal during bright sunshine. As well, you should make sure the station is in an open area with nothing between the sensor and the ground to reduce the possibility of wind blocking I would put obstacles 50 feet apart, but I am not sure how close they should be. It has been a long time since I wrote a blog, but I hope this helps!

Do you know how long the batteries in the display can last on their own? The manual says they are only for backups, but is there any way of finding out?

My original purchase was in 2016 and the second in 2017. It was just time to change the batteries on

The process of replacing batteries on a roof It's a pain to have an installed unit. Is it possible to modify it easily when I have power there?

The ability to convert battery powered devices to DC applications is available for most products. All you need to do is match the voltage and amperage and seal the hole where the A simple process. You'll need to put additional leads wires in the wall wart for length, once you find the right match. The soldered connection should be cooled after being heat shrunk. Assuming that the unit requires 4 AAs, because I do not have this item, I would guess that it uses something 5 It is about 6 volts and has about 800 mA You can check the stats on it, but 1000 mA would work.

MY FOOL! I was duped twice! In a nutshell, A 5-inch tablet was originally purchased by me August 2015 was the month when one weather station and one weather sensor were installed
3/5

In addition, the Weather Sensor started working properly in January, then failed 15 months later because of a malfunctioning temperature sensor. Having to buy a new complete weather sensor was necessary since it could not be replaced. Despite numerous attempts to repair it, the second temperature gauge failed in just over a year, and the wind direction "rudder" frozen up and cannot Acurite told me that it would be no problem even though I live on the coast. As far as I can tell, their weather sensors are inferior. I will be using Davis Instruments or Ambient Weather products from now on. The quality is much better and the price is worth it.

Make sure you use AcuRite carefully
3/5

It had to be replaced. It worked as intended and lasted two years without a problem, but I had to replace it because it didn't work anymore. The Hub was purchased so that I could put my station on line. I liked the idea of being able to monitor the situation from the office and everything was working both at Weather Underground and on the AcuRite site until AcuRite sent me an email. A newer model of the Hub is replacing the Hub (Great! I love technological advances! ), and if I want to access my stats online I have to purchase the new model, as the old one will no longer be supported nor will it It is just not appealing to me to have to upgrade equipment that is still in good working order. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" As grandpa always said "Don't fix what's not broken!"! "AcuRite should be able to help me with this issue, so I call to ask a question or two. A recording tells me that I am number 32 in line, I should leave my number and they will get back to me. I have yet to hear back from the company after a week and a half. They were unfortunate to find out that I ordered a replacement station from a different company after a week. AcuRite seems to be having problems with their technical support, and the greatest product in the world might not be worth the effort if the support isn't good.

Beware of a customer support team that has no interest in improving the product line

This is a Christmas present I got for my husband. On the same day almost exactly a month later, none of the sensors on the outside of the house were working. The computer started working again after I brought it inside twice. Our first attempt was to change the batteries, switch the channel, and reset the device, but that didn't When the device was sitting on the dining room table for a week, it suddenly began to function It took a couple of days for it to start working again after it was inside the second time. This may have something do with getting wet, but I find that As of now, Accu-Rate is still in charge I'm sure Amazon's warranty should match Rite (not Amazon's), but it appears that getting through to someone over the phone is worth more than your life. Then there is the RMA#, which you can only have if you speak to them. You can't send them back unless you have one. Having read the conversations on the accu-forum would have made me more knowledgeable before purchasing this The community forum is the right place to find the website. There is a very good display inside, which was the reason it gets two stars (not zero). The weather station might not work in rainy weather, but if one does work it would be a nice addition It is positioned 15 feet from the inside unit and 15' above the ground, but it has a direct line to the site despite its distance. To what purpose does it serve? This product line should be discontinued by Amazon so that would catch the attention of some people. In their Community Forum, you'll see that this is a company with little regard for customer service and product quality. It seems they may think that ending a conversation on line with an agent saying, "Enjoy your day!" is cutting it close to good customer service and product quality. It only takes a few words to make you feel better about the crap product you just purchased.

Unfortunately, I did not succeed on the second attempt
3/5

Having used Accurite systems for about five years, I can vouch for the quality of the products. As long as the Five in One does not work, there will be no problems. The problem is not that big. Added this one to my order. drink a full-strength single for a day or two, then nothing for a week or so. The process had to be started all over again. Simply unplug it and you will be back to single status. It is extremely difficult to get Accurite to support you. No one is even available to talk to. The only means of communication is via chat. There is no loss of the indoor display from my old unit as I get to keep Thus, a 5 in 1 on the outside is not an option. The people who wanted me to jump through hoops wanted me to do it. That was why I decided to order a new display with the next one. In the same vein. This is clearly a problem. It was stupid of me to try a third time. It consists of an array of Now that I have tried three, I am feeling more confident. There is absolutely no doubt that they are defective. They will not hold anything at all. There is no customer support at all. You should not buy it or anything else from Accurite. They want you to take pictures on your ladder of how close you are to the outside unit with the receiver in your hand. I beg you not to do business with.

The first thing you notice is that it's nice and neat out of the box The readings are not accurate because the wind speed needs to be measured directly in the sun
3/5

Secondly, the temperature reading is not accurate because the device must be placed in direct sunlight. After the sun goes down, it is dark all day except at night. There is supposed to be an internal solar panel Keeping the temperature accurate is supposed to be the job of the powered fan. There is no such thing. Second, the humidity sensor quit after 14 months. The item has just passed its warranty period. A new book (purchased A humidity replacement sensor is available on some newer stations. You can purchase and install it The one I have is "too old. ". In my opinion, this station is not recommended. What other experiences have you had Instruments made by Rite are also of poor quality. It is simply impossible to extend the warranty beyond the date of purchase.
