Questions & Answers

Is it possible to connect this lock to a wireless network? If that's the case, how does "track as soon as your" work? "Family members are in the house" and send out push notifications?

The lock does not currently connect to the internet, but it will in January 2019 when our WiFi Hub is released. Family members and trusted users can unlock the door with eKeys by using their iOS or Android app, and the record is saved on the app for you to review at any time.

What is the maximum range of Bluetooth? Is it possible to use the app to open the door from a distance of about 30 feet?

Hello! br>Both the basic and plus versions of the lock have a standard Bluetooth range of 10 meters. 15 ft. If you want to be able to control the lock from anywhere and at any time using the app, I recommend purchasing the Pro version, which includes a WiFi Hub that allows you to have remote control and a real-time view of the lock. Access to the door is alerted at a specific time. Plus, you'll save a lot of money compared to buying the Lockly Secure Plus and the Wifi Hub separately.

Is there any current information on the compatibility of Apple Homekit? The responses I'm seeing are 2 and 3. 5 - the age of three years ?

This is a question to which I have no answer. This model has been around for at least three years. That's how long it's been with me.

Selected User Reviews For Lockly PGD628FMB, Fingerprint Keyless Entry Door Smart Lock, Discrete PIN Code Input, Matte Black

The quality of the construction is excellent
5/5

The build quality is outstanding. This is an investment that will pay off in the long run. Others have pointed out that this unit does not come with WiFi, which is true but also a plus. I work in the IT industry, and some things, like your door locks, should not be accessible via the internet. There is an add-on that allows you to do that if you want it to be an option. I'm glad it's an option rather than a default; it's far too easy to hack your network if this lock isn't turned on. My house is in a queue. This is coming from someone who works in the home automation industry. My vacuum cleaners, refrigerator, dishwasher, washer, and dryer are all linked to a network of other devices. My (2) Locklys, on the other hand, are not. Before anyone mocks the fact that several vulnerable appliances are online in my home network, keep in mind that I have an Enterprise Sophos Firewall and an L2 switch with VLANs to keep them isolated from anything critical.

The Finger Reader isn't working right now
3/5

This is my second device, and the replacement, as it turns out, had the same issues as the first, despite the fact that the lock system cost over $358. 00 (inclusive of Wi-Fi) Fi bridge) I don't think there's any justification for such a device's failure. The fingerprint reader, in particular. It works perhaps 3% of the time. I called support and this is what they asked me “did you put your finger on the reader? "I couldn't believe what I was asked, so I said it again, and yes, that is what he asked. " This is the type of assistance you'll get from this firm. I was instructed to record myself using the lock and submit it to their engineering department. If they found a problem with the lock at the time, they would replace it, but it would take three to six weeks. I don't know about you, but this does not sit well with me. Thank you so much for allowing me to return this item to Amazon.

This product is poorly advertised and does not deliver on its promises
3/5

The fingerprint scanner is a complete farce. This is a nearly $300 product that has been executed poorly. I've called customer service several times and been told that my issues will be referred to senior advisers and escalated. They said they'd call me back, but I haven't heard anything in three weeks. I've discovered that there are far better products on the market that actually deliver on their promises.

The fingerprint scanner has been giving me problems on and off
3/5

It appears to be of good quality and has a lot of useful features, but the quality may be lacking. For the second time in a row, the fingerprint scanner has failed. It stopped working for about a week about a month ago, then started working again for about a month before stopping again. The numeric keypad is functional - The fingerprint scanner is the source of the problem. The fingerprint scanner is a major selling point. br>br> I had one with the code, but this one appealed to me because of the scanner and Google integration. When the scanner is working properly, it is extremely fast. br>br>I'm beginning to wonder if this will be a long-lasting product, and I've emailed them about it. They don't appear to be able to conduct diagnostics remotely. br>br>Because I purchased the entire kit, I spent a lot of money on this lock. At this time, I would not recommend this lock.

Definitely measure before you buy! I had to return it, despite my high expectations
3/5

br>It's actually a LOT bigger than the door and didn't fit. br>Be sure to measure everything! br>Because my hair is "normal," this didn't work for me.

For the Money
3/5

At this price, I feel compelled to be forthright in my assessment. For one, they could have used higher-quality materials (as they admit). It is not IPX rated as far as I am aware, and if it is, it is not a very good one. To be honest, the fingerprint reader isn't great. It's about three-tenths the quality of any smartphone reader, in my opinion. It won't read if your finger isn't perfectly clean, and if it's slightly wet, it won't read. There's no way. It's slow even when everything is working perfectly. The magnets that hold the lock hole cover in place aren't strong enough to withstand light brushings of your finger as you carelessly close the door, so the flap usually hangs down, exposing the keyhole (one of my visual pet peeves). The tape provided by the manufacturer is insufficient if you want the lock assembly to feel secure on oversized doors. You'll need to pierce your door with a drill; As a result, the lock assembly can accommodate the optional "anchor post" (as I refer to it). Lockly actually mounts nicely if you use the anchor post. However, if I want to use a different lock in the future without having a hole in my door, I'll either have to replace it or fill it with glue and sawdust (which isn't ideal). I bought four of these, so they'd better last a long time, and this version (the latch version) is far superior to the deadbolt version. The Deadbolt version occasionally does not open when the correct code/finger is entered, even though it thinks it has, and remains closed while I enter the correct code/finger until it decides to start working again (everything is properly aligned and not physically jammed; It usually works). When the touchscreen is turned off or asleep, it can be a little more difficult to "wake up" the screen for code entry than it is at other times. As far as I can tell, that's the worst part. After all of that, the part I like best about it is that I haven't used a key on my house since I installed these locks. I can also go out of town and grant temporary access to only certain areas of my house so that my friends can look after my animals or do whatever else I need without having access to the rest of my house (not that they would). When they are watching my animals, I can see who accessed which doors and when they did so, so I know who was fed when. I also like that you can easily hold a 9v battery to the lock to temporarily power it, allowing you to enter without a key even if the battery is dead. The app appeals to me. Lockly would be a five-star rating if they improved the quality or reduced the price. Right now, I'd say if you have $1,200, go for it. Expect a three-star product if you have $00 to spend on four locks and are willing to take a chance.
