I FOUND OUT THAT THE NUMERICAL PLASTIC PART EASILY DETACHES (IE. WITH A FLAT SCREWDRIVER OR BY GRABING THE SCREWDRIVER BY THE HAND AND SHIFTING IT BACK AND FORTH).
I just used the key in the end. to the thumb print's unreliability.
I received the package in good condition. (The box is a favorite of cats! )br>Removed and inventoried everything; everything was there. br>I followed the directions and used my own batteries (Duracell alkaline). br>I had no trouble programming the combination, and then the fingerprint lock with six fingerprints. br>When the doors are closed, it fits perfectly into my 12" deep cabinet. br>Fits two 4 1/2" barrel revolvers from the 1960s with four Speed Loaders. If you don't catch it, the door will slam shut. br>Overall, this is a fantastic piece of work.
The key as well as the instructions were kept inside the box. We were unable to open it, so we contacted the supplier, who was extremely helpful and stated that a replacement would be shipped the following day. It was simple to set up the finger prints and code once we received the new item.
The manual was a little confusing at times, especially when it came to the last step, which reset all of the finger prints and the code. There was also no information on the maximum number of finger prints that it would accept. br>br>Overall, it's a positive experience.
It took a while to get the password numbers right, but I'm finally there. Both functions of the box are functioning properly. Love it.
For the first two weeks, it worked perfectly. The door will no longer open with a fingerprint or a code. The blue light turns on and beeps as if it wants to open, but I have to use the key every time, which kind of defeats the purpose if it doesn't work without it. br>br>Do yourself a favor and spend a little more money on something that will last longer. If you have an emergency and need to get help right away, God forbid.
It is ideal for our requirements.
