Yes, you can do it yourself, and many people do. You put your signature on the box, indicating that you made the prints. You'll be fine with a little practice on some paper or extra fingerprint cards.
There are two parts to this story. The foundation is made of black. The white part of the top is a frame with a window that holds the fingerprint card.
Step on their foot first? For the left hand, I just stand to their right and demonstrate rolling their thumb in ink from right to left, then putting it on paper to show them not to press down too hard or it will smudge, but just hard enough to get a good print, rolling it on the paper just like we did with the ink. I fill out and submit my own NFA Form 4 and print it myself. I simply mounted it on a board beside my ink pad and rolled out my prints. I've gotten approval for several stamps using this method, so it appears to work! There will be no refusals!.
I recently needed to get my fingerprints taken in order to submit NFA paperwork, and these made the process a breeze. The fingerprint card was held in place, making my life much easier.
As a result, the product image shows two different items, but only the bottom one was visible. The FBI fingerprint cards aren't going to work. a complete waste of money.
This was used to make some Form 1 fingerprints. Overall, it's a good product, though I wish they'd put some weight in the base so it's less likely to move and feels more solid.
I thought I was getting something brand new, but it turned out to be used and a little disgusting.
I travel and do fingerprinting, and this is far too light, causing the prints to slip. I'm trying to come up with a way to find a non-slip pad that can be mounted on a piece of wood or something. So, for the time being, I've put my mobile fingerprinting service on hold until I figure it out; however, I believe the company should develop a weighted product for this purpose.
If it's your first or 50th time doing your own fingerprints, this is a must-have. It prevents your fingers from spotting on other parts of the paper by keeping them aligned. On the first use of this item, I was approved.
For NFA items, I used my own fingerprints. It is difficult to print your own product, but it is a good product. I didn't have anyone to help me print, so the product does its job of holding the print card in place. That'd be preferable.
