Questions & Answers

Is the hand cranking required to charge the battery for a long period of time?

Put the radio on standby and let it charge in the sunlight. You are good to go when you see four bars after a few hours.

Has the 18650 battery tabs to allow it to be replaced? If it can't be replaced by a 3400 mAh 18650, why not?

ER310 was delivered to me in March of 2018, which is the "first generation" of radio The page on Amazon is the same as this. Several days ago, the battery ran out. There is no normal battery connector on the end of the battery for my radio. It has a "pigtail" There will be no more batteries made with this material. On the Midland website, you can find a phone number to call if you need a My call to the store was answered by a representative who informed me that the battery was discontinued. They offered to sell me a newer model of the radio, which does not require the discontinued battery, for the cost of my My order for that has just been placed. It is now possible to have more than one It is a version of the ER-generation There is a 310 radio equipped with a "pigtail" battery which does not use it. Sadly, the photographs of radios sold on Amazon's page are unavailable, so I cannot tell whether the radios are "first generation" or "second generation" Gen. 1 refers to the first generation. The second generation is probably what I'm thinking of It would not appeal to me if it was a first-generation model.

Selected User Reviews For Midland ER10VP Emergency Alert AM/FM Weather Radio

The best emergency radio on the market
5/5

Here are my preferences when it comes to an emergency radio I'm so sorry! Find digital stations on our digital station finder There is a crank, a USB port, and more *Power source in the form of a battery Listen to FM/AM/NOAA* Life cycle indicator for batteries - The ability to receive alerts* - The capability of private listening is provided by the ear buds - I hope that this Midland ER310 will have (at least) 2000 mAh battery capacity so that I can charge my smartphone. Unfortunately, it does not have memory settings. On the other hand, there is a single button that allows the user to switch between NOAA, FM For as long as my battery doesn't run out, it will stay on the last station in each of the three bands that I was on. The location is FM 101, 550. The first AM was When connected to my computer via a USB cable, the radio took 6 hours to charge. The solar panel can also charge the device in six hours. It is nice to have the radio and flashlight both working at the same time.

Replacement batteries for rechargeable batteries are hard to find
3/5

Despite its well manufactured and useful construction, it can be problematic to use once you pull the battery out of the closet. It was left in the dark for too long (I'm sure most people do) and its battery needs to be replaced. There is no terminal at either end of Midland's 18650 Lithium battery, but the two ends have a proprietary plug. Find the battery in the photo and see if you can find it! My guess is that I will need 6 AA batteries at all times.

An emergency power situation is unlikely to be of much help
3/5

The downsides are too numerous Even with the solar charging weak enough to maintain a charge sitting in a west-facing window, the battery cannot maintain a charge. There's no way a hand crank is going to be effective enough to charge an internal battery enough to charge a phone (I have tried draining the internal battery and cranking, but it never worked). As far as I can tell, there is no way to disable the Required Weekly Test as other radios do. So, if you keep the weather alert feature on, every Wednesday between 11 am and noon, you'll hear a loud siren and see strobe lights.

I couldn't even get it to power As a precaution, I bought 2 of these right after Hurricane Irma thinking I would be better prepared for the next time a storm hits
3/5

As my first device, I read the manual start to finish before charging it. After charging it with the USB cable, the radio showed that it had completed the In the manual, the user's manual recommends a set amount of time for each job. It was fully charged, but seemed to not work at all upon being turned on! I then charged the second one in the same manner and it showed a full charge again. I thought maybe I had received a dud so charged the third one in the same way. tried to turn on this one as well, but once again, it wouldn't turn on. It's a good thing that I tested these out during my return period, because they both went back and I will not continue to purchase anything from this company in the future. Having read many good reviews about it, I think I'd like to try a Sangean. You should not put this radio in a box when you buy it as an emergency radio, as I am doing. Pull it out the first time you need it, not once you’ve done you first time. You should test it while you still have the chance to return it if it doesn't work.

This is a great purchase overall
4/5

There are so many that I have read over and over. This is a great purchase overall. As I read the descriptions & descriptions again and again, I was captivated by their detail. This review is for an accessory I included in An actualistic DX-type computer has been provided to me The 440 has been on the market for many years, but I wanted one with an alternative power source. A translation of (the This one takes 6 D cells + 2 AA cells)

I made a big purchase on this one and I'm very happy with it! I think this is an ideal size for me. The buttons are spaced apart well, and they are large enough that they can be easily operated. In either case, the display is readable, and is either always off, or always on, within five seconds of pressing a button. As the battery charges, either through cranking or from solar power, the battery gauge gauge blinks. The charging status of the unit is also indicated by an LED. A crank works well and is not so small that it feels like a hamster cage, but it seems sturdy as long as it is not misused. There is enough energy in the panel to last even in low light levels (Cloudy / Sunset to Dusk). It was clear to hear the FM radio band on the FM receiver, and the sound quality was adequate. Receiving AM is a bit of a challenge, but you're able to get basic information and listen without much trouble. On several of the frequencies, minor adjustments to the aerial resulted in the WX band coming in clear. This product also works with the following frequency frequencies
(7 Frequencies)
The aerial itself may bend easily, but taking normal care should prevent this from happening.

The Flashlight is quite bright, even on low. While the blinking mode is a bit of a gimick, it is not subpar. A dog whistle is a sound made by a dog A visual indicator appears when a whistle is blown I'll have to try it again and see if my neighbor's dog is running around petrified! In addition, while the supplied cord will not work with phone, it does work with Kindle, and it charges that device. I also appreciate how the cord fits neatly where the AA Batteries are located. There is plastic in the case, of course, but it does not appear cheap. Water is not waterproof, but put it in a ziplock bag if you expect it to rain. This is a nice touch to have a handle at the end.

After Hurricane Irma, this tool proved to be very helpful
5/5

In the middle of the night, I stumbled upon It was a 210 weather radio that I received in April, and I needed to use it after Hurricane Irma took out my power. My complaint is that I do not have any. During the storm, the battery of my camera was fully charged When I need it, I will be able to connect the USB cable and operate the 210. Due to the fact that it was already charged before the storm made landfall, it lasted the entire time I needed it without needing to be recharged. During my time at the beach it worked perfectly for listening to local FM and AM radio and In addition, I attempted the weather alert mode, which signals severe weather when it is likely to occur, and it also worked as anticipated. It was convenient to have a flashlight built in, and it was also helpful to be able to charge my phone. There's no reason not to use this radio in an emergency because the reception, sound quality, volume, and battery life are all superior. You should note There is no battery in this radio when it is shipped. It must be connected to the battery that is located inside the compartment before it can be used.
