Due to the strong magnetic base and the fact that this NMO magnet mount is an NMO mount, I like it. Depending on whether I'm operating on a mobile two-meter, 70 cm, or 222 MHz, I use it with different antenna types. The connection between the base and ground wire is strong enough to prevent loosening or breaking the coax cable connection to the mounting post. I do not overload it with very tall antennas, and I remove the antenna and mount when I leave my vehicle for a long time. Soft plastic disks are included at the bottom of the base bottom to help prevent scratching.
I plan on using it for remote mobile communication.
I was impressed with how well it was made and worked.
This is a good product. The base is excellent and the magnet is strong. Neither I nor my client have any.
My interest was piqued when I saw how waterproof and tight the junctions and connections were. It has a strong magnetic field and a neat, clean finish.
The key to getting a compass needle to move with it is that this is somehow magnetic. The antenna would not be able to be held firmly in place. While driving a rental car, I tried to use it, but it ended up bouncing down the side of the car when I hit When it was later tipped over multiple times before it reached highway speeds on both the roof and bed of a Sierra 1500 pickup truck, it had to be re-tipped. Except if you're just looking to put it on top of a file cabinet, this is a complete waste of money. You just need to make sure it doesn't get blown over if you place it too close to a vent.
I'm very happy with it!.
There is not enough strength in the magnet for it to hold onto the car roof. This item has been returned for a It's worth it to spend a few more dollars and get a stronger.
