One-third of an inch is one third of an inch for me. With anything smaller, I don't think it would tighten sufficiently.

The second one that I have written. The guy wires are lowered to about 18 feet for use with a 36 foot vertical antenna. The guy clamp is attached to paracord and has remained intact in the winds in central Oklahoma, which can often exceed 50 mph for almost 24 hours at a time. The guy wire clamp has also maintained its integrity for quite some time. If you want to guy vertical antennas, I highly recommend it.
I secured the sensor to a series of 10' top rails from the chain link fence section of the big box store and sunk them in concrete so my sensor reaches at least 18' above the ground. Stainless steel globe lights kit, string light suspension kit, includes 164 feet of rope cable, turnbuckles, and hooks, and 1/16 wire rope were used to stabilize the top section.
The outcome was very satisfactory for me. I found the metal to be much heavier than I had anticipated. While I thought it was an expensive product when I purchased it, I realized why once I received it. An excellent quality product. The unique design allows for installation in the middle of a wall or ceiling It is possible to slide a line onto a mast without having to slide it into place from the end. It is easy and secure to adjust the angle of the guy wires using the bolts. What it does is what it is meant.
Fortunately I got a chance to practice this at home before going out on This must be a pneumatic tool that was used by the guys who built it. For the sizing bolts to come off, I had to put it in a vise. However, everything went well after that.
put up a Maco V58 about 60 feet above the ground. These were the two I used. What they did worked. On the upper portion we used inch and a quarter pipe, and on the lower part we used inch and a half pipe.
This is a thick piece of metal, as you can see. For rope or wire with non-hardened eyebolts (zinc?) A hardened nuts & bolts are also available. Inner square nuts of the clamp are zinc bolts that secure it to the mast.
My antenna guys wires were quick and easy to attach with this clamp, and it was a snap to put it on a 1-1/2 x 1. 2 inch pipe. I had to take it apart to do it, but it worked great.
Simple, yet sturdy, this piece is my favorite. I love how robust it is as well. This is a great design that integrates well with the installation of guy wires on antenna poles when one needs to tie them down. Also, it is great to be able to lock in what has been tightened with the locking nuts.
