Questions & Answers

In Amazon's listing, it says the power is 10W, but Baofeng lists the power as 5W. The answer to this question is which one ?

I believe both are correct. BaoFeng radios are capable of putting out a maximum of 5 watts. A 10 watt maximum power output is possible with this antenna. In this case, your BAOFENG radio will still be able to transmit at 5 watts, but it would also work with a radio with a 10 watt signal if you ever connected it to that radio. You could fry the radio if the volume is any higher.

Is there an antenna that is better than this?

Can a whip be used as That's not really the case. Types other than those listed Yes, I agree. It is the Nelson Slim Jim antenna that I prefer. I can reach a repeater 60 miles away on 8W with a 5-meter when it is strung up 10' high Please come back to no. 9 (it's perfect). In fact, I can use this 771 whip to hit repeaters 30 miles away with the since I live in Florida, I believe the higher the antenna, the better (fewer trees and buildings interfere). By concentrating signals in one direction, a beam antenna produces a concentrated signal. The 3 el handi I use to catch AMSAT chatter is my 3 el handi. In such a case, the word "best" is just right for the job. The antenna I have on my UV-lamp is this one If I am not backpacking or tracking, I will use 5RTP. As compared to all other whips, I find this one to be the best. I highly recommend

When the antenna is fully retracted, is it safe to transmit? The radio can it be damaged?

In order to calculate antenna length, you must first solve for A frequency for 2808 is length in inches. The manufacturer states When you are only listening to audio without transmitting, you can retract the antenna to a size of only four This means that the only frequency with a SWR of 1 is There are approximately 700 megahertz in band 1. * If you lengthen the sentence to approximately 6 words, then the plot will clear up. If you want to TX at 3", please There is a 440 Mhz frequency, but that's all. Please increase the length by a minimum of 12 words. The band width for 220 MHz is 7". must increase all the way to the 16" mark in order to utilize 175 MHz. The 3 will not be disregarded by doing that A SWR of 1.4 will be required for 2M at 146 MHz. It is important to reach a length of 19 to get to that goal. A 2" stone. Consequently, the antenna is unsuitable for Ham radio TX in all practical terms. MARS at 150 Mhz or even MARS applications at the higher end.

Which version is better the retractable one or the non-retractable one? Is it true that the reviews are mixed?

As for the antenna I received, it wasn't retractable, but the one I have works beautifully! A non-retractable one has a great deal of limberness. It will stand straight up and down, but it is not so rigid that you won't be able to flex it at all. This antenna does not have a retractable antenna. I think the retractable antenna diminishes the usefulness of this antenna. I have multiple antennas that are suitable for a variety of situations, so if you need a short antenna it is cheap and I have multiple antennas. I run a short rubber duck if I'm at a festival with a close-by base station, a long rubber duck if I'm in the field or on the road and a repeater is far away. The way I use it is It would be best if you bought one that is not

The antenna is great for the price
5/5

I have had it for about a week and have done some SWR testing while connected to a Baofeng BF-550 This radio can handle 8 watts. As a test, I just put the antenna on top of my Tacoma in less than ideal conditions, in an urban neighborhood that is cluttered with lots of things. It didn't have a lot of fun with the bottom of the 70 cm UHF band as you can see from the photo, but even at the worst, it was near In most instances, the readings were much lower than A lot of people consider a score of 5 to be great. Even at 70mph, the magnetic base has not budge, and I accidentally backed my car into the garage without taking it out. No damage was done, which was surprising.

The measured SWR was impressively low, which is indicative of another amazing power delivery
5/5

When I become intrigued by a hobby, I tend to find myself immersed in it over time. What began as a vague interest in FRS/GMRS walkie talkies evolved into the purchase of several BaoFeng portable VHF/UHF radios. There is a BTECH AMP and two-way radio An amplifier for mobile devices U25. The first one I had was a Nagoya UT-26 Antenna mounted on a 308UV magnetic mount which worked fairly well only when connected directly to a BaoFeng BF-88 This F8HP has two-way headphone jacks It used to be a two-way radio, but was upgraded to the Coil 72, Super Loading Mounted on a magnetic base for VHF/UHF, with a PL-connector The AMP-259 male connector mates with the AMP-259 female connector The U25's SO is - This connector has a female connector 239 on it. I was blown away by the upgrade! I was struck by the glaring differences in quality, power handling, and most importantly SWR. Measurements took place at over 2 GHz using the UT308UV. This results in a signal-to-noise ratio of just under 5 with RF power output at just under 15W. This document contains information about the The measured SWR was lowered from 1. 12 to 1. 06 with a 72 super loading coil antenna. With almost 20W of power, it is one of the fastest in its class. UHF amplifiers have been enhanced in this manner, not only in terms of power delivery, but also in terms of safety. In Nagoya University for Theological Studies Coil 72, Super Loading In fact, inches are regarded as the best magnetic mount mobile antennas for VHF/UHF operations. This is a highly recommended book.

There is no problem with this antenna
5/5

There was a real need for this antenna on the GMRS market. A major problem with most GMRS and FRS radios is that the antenna is permanently attached to the transceiver, and this loses a lot of signal when used in a vehicle since the vehicle absorbs a large amount of the signal. 100% of the signal can be generated without any loss of clarity with the Nagoya antenna There are no cable losses other than minor ones. Improved reception compared to the previous version. You can easily make 60 - 100 watts of power with a couple of these antennas and line of sight conditions I live 70 miles away. Furthermore, it is important to pay attention to The magnet on the antenna base is powerful enough to hold it in place on a vehicle roof even at high speeds. In addition, the item is covered with rubber, so no roof damage is caused.

I expect it to work
5/5

I like the length of the cable, the separate connectors, and the storing magnet that is quite strong (but could be stronger) but it does not harm I am unable to provide technical details other than the fact that I was able to maintain contact at a reasonable range using a Baofung 5V.

A minivan's cable is as long as the cable of a van
5/5

I love it. A cable long enough to reach from the rear of my van all the way to the front can be attached. It is extremely durable. I can even drive up to 90 miles per hour in it, There is absolutely no interference at all in the reception. only took me less than 5 minutes to install this product, and I am so impressed with it, that I cannot even describe it.

There was a problem with 259 Connector
4/5

Let's take a look at In the antenna coax, there was a problem seating the 259 connector On the SMA adapter, there is a female 259 connector. There were a few mistakes made when the connection was soldered. The female end of the drill bit was cleaned using a #20 drill bit. After a little bit of emery cloth on the male end, all was well. As soon as the 2M SWR is turned on, it is It was one standard deviation for the 70CM SWR. The magnet is strong, but not so powerful that you're afraid you might scratch the paint when you take off My rating for durability dropped a star because the adapter seems fragile. This weekend, I'll adjust SWR. If a friend asks me about this antenna, I will highly recommend it. According to today's date, nothing has changed.

It is a very sturdy antenna
5/5

Aside from being strong and a perfect fit for my BAOFENG BF-5000, I also liked how it comes with a mounting bracket This is a handheld receiver transmitter (HT) for the F8HP. Having said that, the mounting system has a strong magnetic field, so I won't have to worry about it blowing off when I'm driving 60 MPH. Also, this machine has a great build quality and a lot of feed line to boot! I am so glad that I bought this product.

This is a nice antenna
5/5

It is a great price when compared to diamonds and comets. Two of these are excellent antennas, I bought two. My apartment has two alarm clocks, one for the mobile phone, one for inside. Buying a book was my first purchase.
