Questions & Answers

While Amazon claims it has a max power of 10 watts, Baofeng says it has a max power of 5 watts. How would you explain the difference between the two?

The answers to both questions are correct. Despite its small size, the Radio BaoFeng is capable of producing 5 watts of power. With this antenna, you can receive and transmit up to 10 watts. If you ever decide to connect this antenna to any other radio that has a signal capacity up to 10 watts, it will still work even though your radio will still transmit at 5 watts. It would be impossible to hear the radio at any higher level.

There must be a better antenna than this one, right?

Can I use a whip as a weapon? It's not really worth it. Types other than those listed Yes, that's correct. The Nelson Slim Jim is my favorite. Mount that up a tree 10 feet high and I can hit a repeater 60 miles away on the 8W band with a 5W It's 9 (that's great) back to you. I can hit a repeater 30 miles away with the same results using my 771 whip. It is better to go higher because I live in Florida. Having a higher antenna allows for more reception (less trees and buildings interfere). By means of a beam antenna, signals are aimed in The 3 el handi I use to catch AMSAT chatter is my 3el handi. It is therefore purely appropriate that the word "best" should be used. On my UV-C device, I have this antenna A 5RTP is normal unless I'm trekking or backpacking. This is my favorite whip out of all the ones I've had.

The antenna may be fully retracted while a transmission is made. Is this safe? The radio can be damaged by it?

A length of an antenna can be expressed in the following way The pitch number is 2808 and the frequency is length in inches *br>As stated by the manufacturer It is convenient to retract the antenna to only 4 inches when you are only receiving and not transmitting. As we can see, the only frequency that has a SWR of 1 is The frequency of 1 is approximately 700 MHz. In order to increase the length to approximately six, you would need to increase the width. If you would like to get a quote you can call However, it is limited to 440 Mhz. **By the way, you will have to increase the length of your paragraph Those for 220 MHz are 7" tall. In order to reach the 175 Mhz mark, you must increase all the way to the 16" mark. However, you won't be able to stay under There is only one SWR needed at 146 MHz for 2M. To get to 19 cm, you need to go up in length. In 2"-plus. In all practicality, this antenna is not suitable for TX operation in Ham radio. For instance, the MARS applications with the range of 150 Mhz.

What are the pros and cons of the retractable version? There are mixed reviews for this book?

Despite the fact that I received an antenna that was not retractable, the one I have works extremely well! non-retractable one is very limber, meaning it can stand straight up and down, but it does has enough flex to allow you to bend it a little This antenna is one of the best around, but I feel retractable antennas would diminish it in value. Short antennas are inexpensive, and I have many different ones that I use for different situations, if you need a short antenna. While I run a short rubber duck when working a festival and working close to a base station, using simplex when mobile/driving was if I was far from a repeater or would be in a rural area. This is one of the ways I use it. If you want to buy one, I recommend purchasing one that is not

Excellent antenna for the price
5/5

I have had it for about a week and have conducted some SWR tests on it while connected to a Baofeng BF-600 A radio with an 8 watt power output. It was a suburban neighborhood with lots of clutter, so I placed the antenna on top of my Tacoma and did the test there under less than ideal conditions. From the picture you can see, even at the worst point it was at 1, so it didn't liked the lower end of the 70 cm UHF band. There were some readings that were higher than It is generally considered an excellent reading to score 5 out of 10. Despite driving at 70mph without unscrewing the magnetic base, the base has not moved further. I accidentally backed into my garage without unscrewing it, and no damage was done.

The power delivery is amazing, and the measured SWR is astoundingly low
5/5

I have a tendency to go "all in" on a hobby over time. What started as a vague hobby interest in FRS/GMRS walkie talkies ended in the purchase of multiple BaoFeng VHF/UHF handheld two-way radios There is an AMP-BTECH two-way radio and a BTECH two-way radio This amplifier can be used on the go. When I first bought the Nagoya UT-3 it had a color display It was fairly good to connect a BaoFeng BF-35 magnetic mount antenna directly to a 308UV magnetic mount car antenna This is the F8HP two-function board It is the same type of two-way radio you used to have, but upgraded Loading coil 72 with 19-inch diameter This magnetic mount antenna has a PL-type connector for VHF/UHF use A male 259 connector to connect to an AMP-compatible cable The SO for the U25s - A female connector 239 is available. It was amazing how the upgrade turned out! It was night and day in terms of quality, power handling and most importantly, SWR. With a measurement of over 2, the UT308UV is quite accurate. It allows just under 15W of RF power to leave the transmitter with a 5 SWR. University of Tennessee The measured SWR was reduced from 1. 36 to 1. 72 after using a 72 super loading coil antenna. With almost 20W of power, it is the second most powerful. The UHF amplifier has been improved, not only in terms of power, but in terms of safety as well. In Nagoya, there was a UT-style test Loading coil 72 with 19-inch diameter It is unlikely that there is a better mobile antenna for VHF/UHF than an inch antenna. I highly recommend this book.

There is no problem with this antenna
5/5

GMRS has been waiting for an antenna like this for a long time. issue with most GMRS and FRS radios is that the antenna is permanently attached to the transceiver, and this results in significant signal loss since if your transmission is in a vehicle, there is a great deal of signal absorbed. This antenna generates a clear signal that radiates 100% of the signal All cables have been fine, other than a few small issues. An improvement in reception has been made. If two of these antennas are put together and the conditions are right, you can easily make 60 - 70 watts There are 70 miles between the two cities. Furthermore, it is important to remember this Magnets on the antenna base are strong enough to hold it on the roof of any vehicle In addition, it is protected by a rubber pad, so there's no risk of it damaging the roof.

A minivan's length is the length of the cable
5/5

I love it. There is enough distance between the cable and the front and rear of my minivan to reach all the way down the sides. My suit is made of incredibly durable material, and while I'm driving on the ramps I can go 90 hours per hour without it moving. I can hear everything perfectly clearly on the receiving end. The installation took me less than 5 minutes. I'm so pleased with this product that I can't imagine how I lived without it.

I expect this to work
5/5

I find the cable long enough, the split connectors, and the storing magnet reasonable (could be a bit stronger), but at least it is not damaging As I am unable to provide technical details other than being able to make contact with a Baofung 5v at reasonable distances, I can only tell you that it was an effective radio.

Those who worked on 259 Connector needed to do so
4/5

Here are a few things you should know before you start A 259 connector on the antenna coax would not fit into a On the SMA adapter, there is a 259 Female connector. There was a messy connection due to whoever soldered it. In order to clean the female end of the drill bit, I used a #20 drill bit. It only took a tiny bit of emery cloth on the male end to make everything right again. A 2M SWR of 1 was out of the box There was a 1 in 70CM SWR. There is a strong magnet, but not so strong that you're worried about scratching the antenna when you remove it. A star was deducted from durability due to the fragile nature of the SMA adapter. I plan to This antenna is something I would recommend According to the latest update on 9/21/2018, nothing has changed.

It is a very sturdy antenna
5/5

Because of its sturdy construction, this antenna perfectly fits my POFENG BAOFENG BF-series cellular phone. This handheld receiver transmitter (HT) is compatible with the F8HP. I could drive sixty miles per hour down the road with no worries about it blowing off of my car due to the magnetic mount. Moreover, the build quality is excellent, and there's plenty of extra feed line to work with as well! The purchase I made was a great decision.

This antenna is very nice
5/5

Comparing Diamond and Comet, this is a great price. It was a good buy, I bought two. In my apartment I have two phones, one for the mobile and one for the indoors. My husband and I bought a car.
