Questions & Answers

How do you get the mini cassets into it?

It's time to put the batteries in. Then there's a slide switch on top of it. The lid will pop open after you cycle that switch. Place your vhs-recordable tapes in a safe place. Place a piece of c tape inside and close the lid. The tape will then be queued up by a small motor.

Is it compatible with other VCR models?

I have a VHS to DVD recorder from Emerson that works perfectly.

Will a sony dvc mini recorder work in a JVC compact vhs camcorder model gr-? axm225?

I'm afraid I don't know who Sonny is.

Will this play vhs cassettes so I can see what's on them before I transfer them to dvd?

This is for VHS cassettes that are smaller in size. If that's the format you're looking for, it should be perfect (assuming you have a VHS player to watch them on).

5/5

It's fantastic!! I'm aware that some people have had issues with the battery compartment opening - It was a breeze to open and close it. I also read that some people had trouble getting the device to open (the part where the camcorder tape is inserted) - This part has also been completely painless for me. It opens automatically when you slide the small arrow slide. br>br>In total, we've used it about 20 times and it's always worked perfectly. The product costs $25, and it has the quality you'd expect for a product in this price range. We treat it with care and never use it to store our camcorder tapes. The tapes must align with two small nobes, and if they are not placed correctly, it may appear difficult to install. When you're ready to remove the camcorder tape, simply place your finger through the open circle on the back of the tape and it will come out easily. We have not experienced any of the issues mentioned in other reviews. Simply take care of it:.

A valuable home movie was destroyed! It's impossible to put your faith in him
3/5

I'm furious at this cassette adapter's poor performance. It used to only play a tape for 18 minutes at a time. It took about 20 seconds for the picture to blink in and out until it was just a blank blue screen with no sound. The only way to get the tape to play again is to hit stop and play, which would result in a 20-second delay before the blue screen appeared. That was annoying, but what really irritated me was the fact that it ruined one of the cassettes I was trying to play. The tape was exposed and stuck after the top hinge cover was broken off the cassette. The tape had to be removed by unscrewing the back of the adapter. I would never trust something like this that destroys tapes within the first 30 minutes of use because these are priceless home movies.

This product was ineffective and caused damage to my videotape
3/5

The takeup motor was not working properly. I'm a video filmmaker who works in the industry. Most video formats are converted to digital in my studio. I ordered this after my VHS C adapter broke. I'm not sure if this was a lemon (i. e. a bad apple) or not. a single bad item) or if the product as a whole has a design flaw. br>FYI- I use Mitsubishi VHS 4 head machines that are of the highest quality. I inserted a brand new AA battery into the adapter, as well as a VHS-C tape. I put in a C cassette and pressed play on my machine; it played fine for two minutes, then strange noises began to play, and the image began to break up. When I turned off the machine and pressed the eject button, it was clear that tape had been dumping into it (i. e. the take- The up motor wasn't working properly). So I replaced the AA battery with a brand new one and inserted a different VHS tape. The same problem occurred with the C tape. So, to make sure that this product was the source of the problem, I borrowed a VHS tape from a friend. When I used my friend's adapter, I was able to use both of the tapes that had previously failed to work with this unit. Please keep in mind that this could be a one-off failure that has nothing to do with the rest of the product.

IT PERFORMS EXACTLY AS IT SHOULD
5/5

I used it for the first time today to scan a VHSc tape that was 20 years old. It takes some getting used to accessing the AA battery compartment. However, mastering the technique of pushing in on the rippled part with your thumb and then sliding the door upward takes little time. If you plan to play old VHSc tapes, I recommend using the adapter to loosen the tape by doing at least one fast forward and rewind. To eject the VHSc from the adapter, slide the eject button on top, then tip the adapter upside down and gently push on the white spool of the VHSc with your finger. Keep an eye out for your tape as it falls out and keep a hand underneath it. To avoid the adapter being ruined by battery leakage, remove the AA battery before storing it. This rule should be applied to all devices that aren't used every day or week. My adapter should last me a long time.

Although it is heavier than a standard VHS tape, it performs admirably
5/5

The VHS- The adapter from C to VHS is excellent. It is, however, approximately three times the weight of a standard VHS tape. One of the VCRs I tried it with (a Sony DVD VHS combo player) had trouble ejecting the VHS tape. Holding the cover door/flap open on the VCR until the tape adapter ejects when it's time to eject from the VCR is a simple solution. br>br>I was able to figure it out on my own because there were no instructions with the adapter. Obviously, you'll need an AA battery first. Also, make sure the slider switch is not in the "on" (far right) position (it should have been labeled "Open," not "on"), and reinstalling the battery door is a bit tricky, so take your time. Slide the switch to the "on" position; it will make a noise and the door will eventually open. Place the VHS tape in the player. Insert the C tape and double-check that it is completely inserted; you may need to wiggle the VHS-C tape into place. C tape the right side of the gear teeth to align them. Close the door, it makes a new noise, and the slider switch moves from "on" to "closed" on its own. The tape can now be played by inserting the adapter into the VCR. br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>for Move the slider switch to the "on" position with C tape; it will make a noise and the door will open. One of your fingers should be pressed up against the VHS-compatible adapter. To remove it, use C tape. It's a circular hole in the bottom of the adapter in the middle forward area.

Junk
3/5

This is a complete sham. I couldn't get it out of my VCR. To access it, I had to remove the VCR's top. Then I was unable to remove my tape. It wasn't possible to use a motorized vehicle. When I removed the battery, it was brand new and hot. I called Amazon and told them I was returning it and that if I couldn't get my tape on it, it might come back in pieces. Well…. Take a look at the illustration. Not only did I disassemble it, but I also had to break it open in order to get the tape out because the door would not open. Please don't risk damaging your tape by doing so. I didn't read the reviews because I didn't want to be influenced by them. I just noticed that it has nearly five stars. I got a lemon, for sure. Clearly, I believe the stars should be pointing downward.
