Using your printer to scan is a waste of time. Buy This! This scanner was capable of scanning 260 pages in one go. Within an hour of installing the scanner on my desk, I had a book! I think I could scan a similar-sized book in about 30 minutes now that I've had some practice with the scanner. Because the book I was handling and for which I purchased this scanner was an $800 collectible book that I intend to preserve and possibly sell in the future, it was critical that I be able to scan quickly and efficiently. I was able to create a high-quality print using the scanner. I needed a high-quality digital scan of the book so that I could enjoy the contents (digitally) without degrading the original physical copy's condition. br>br>The finger-nail-nail-nail-nail-nail-n The edge-hiding software is great for keeping your fingers hidden while holding the pages in place, while the edge-hiding software is great for keeping your fingers hidden when holding the pages in place. detection reversal your book's scanned image is warped and flattened This latter software feature alone makes this scanner far better suited for scanning entire books, let alone long documents, than a traditional office-grade printer / scanner machine. br>br>I'd highly recommend this scanner to college students who want to save money by scanning their textbooks (for personal, educational use only) for pennies on the dollar of what it would cost to buy or rent those textbooks. br>br>Those who believe that scanning with a printer is sufficient may be put off by the estimated $200 price tag, but you will save more than $200 in time and mental fatigue even after just one or two books have been scanned.
Purchases should be avoided. br>With the scanner, you can scan pages one by one. The software, on the other hand, frequently freezes, and the OCR feature dates from the 1990s, producing unusable output from clear, simple text. Manually operating the curve detector is the only option.
Amazing technology went above and beyond my expectations.
It's effective, and I like it.
Scanning books is simple once you've gotten used to the software.
The scanner was simple to set up and connect to the computer with no issues. It was simple to set up and use, with excellent resolution. We've successfully scanned a number of books, documents, photographs, and maps. I would strongly suggest it.
The scanner is a fantastic scanner that produces excellent image quality. The software is also excellent, though I had some difficulty getting it to lock on to the image. I'm not sure if it was because of the software or because of my computer. If the software isn't a problem, I don't think you can go wrong with this scanner. The light should be adjustable, in my opinion.
I can now scan books and have the scanner software split the pages for me automatically. It's extremely accurate, and I've only had to correct a few pages in each book manually. The setup and firmware update were both very simple, and I received prompt responses to my questions from customer service via email. This scanner has left me very impressed.
