CZUR Shine Ultra Smart Document Scanner, Book Scanner with OCR Auto-Flatten & Deskew, Capture Size A3, Compatible with Windows & Mac OS

I figured that using this scanner to convert them to Kindle format might be a good idea, so I gave it a shot. br>br>When the unit arrived, I was blown away by how nice it looked. The device appears to be of high quality, and it comes in a very nice package. However, the first stumbling block I encountered occurred during software installation. I installed the app using the included CD, entered the long serial number, and then was directed to the CZUR website to download a newer version. On the site, there are a variety of models available, but not this one. I found a good match, installed it, redid the serial number, and went off to try it out. br>br>I was pleased with how quickly the images were acquired, and how nice and clear they appeared - if the object is completely flat As soon as I started trying out some books, I noticed that the pages had obvious curvature issues near the spine, to the point where the OCR process produced gibberish. This was a huge letdown, as CZUR videos show people happily scanning books and declaring victory. br>br>I also noticed that my fingers were holding the books open in every scan. There's no way to crop them out, so it'll have to wait until after scanning. Some users used small plastic tabs known as "finger cots" to hold the books open in videos, and the software happily removed them. This model, on the other hand, does not include finger cots. There's no way to automatically copy and paste things like chapter names and page numbers from each page - I couldn't find any evidence of this during the scanning process. br>br>CZUR must make it crystal clear which model performs which functions. On their website, there is no chart of features by model, and this model isn't even listed on the front page of their product catalog. I joined a user group and discovered that I wasn't the only one who had to learn this the hard way. The videos that show how beautiful books can be made appear to be for other models. I re- read the question On Amazon, there's a section for this one, and CZUR recently responded to someone who said that this model is for FLAT items. I'm on my way back because I needed it for books. br>br>I will definitely consider the newest CZUR if it delivers what they promise in their videos, but it's not on their website, it's not on Amazon, and it's only available through a crowdfunding page. I believe the company has a lot of potential, but they need to make it a lot easier to figure out which scanners have which features. br>br>Other considerations - Although OCR was quick, every file came out with every word underlined, and some hint bubbles were only available in Chinese, even when the rest of the app displayed English. The automatic capture on page turn was a great idea, and it appears to have been well implemented.

I wanted a scanner that I could take to the library with me and use to scan documents as well as use as a camera to teach online. I figured I'd give it a shot because it was within my price range. br>First and foremost, don't bother with the software CD; it's just as easy to download from the website. br>Secondly, the scans are insanely clear and even. I scanned an image from a book and didn't expect it to "flatten," but it did! I could even save parts of the document by clipping them from there. br>The video feature allows me to record my annotations and show them to my students later. br>I have no regrets and plan to use this scanner for many years to come!.

The scanner is said to work with Mac in the listing (and on their website). br>The software that comes with the package is only compatible with Windows. br>br>On their website, there is no Mac software for this scanner to download. I needed this for urgent work and bought it because it shipped quickly. br>br>The only link I could find was for a different product, and the Mac software for that won't install if you use the serial number from this scanner (Shine 800 Pro)br>br> I can't install software because I don't have the ability. I'm sitting here with a useless doorstop because they don't have a support phone number or live chat.

When the pandemic hit last spring, I borrowed an old document viewer from a teacher to use at home to provide speech and language therapy. It worked great after a difficult installation, but now that we're all going online, the teacher wants it back. (Probably! ) I knew my district wouldn't be able to afford to purchase another one for me, so I planned to make do with what I had. Because I use a lot of objects and sequence cards in my therapy, this was extremely difficult. This one was found online and seemed to be a good deal. I decided to get it for myself because I'll be getting a new out-of-the-box experience soon. Grandchild of the state - I'll be able to use this to read books with my friends! It was extremely easy to set up and there were no issues. The image on the screen was crystal clear and crisp. The device itself is small but sturdy, and it will perfectly meet my needs without any unnecessary frills. I can manipulate the materials, the student can see them on the screen, and I can even photograph them to send to the student! This is fantastic!.

I'm an elementary school teacher looking for a document camera to use for distance learning. While the scanning software is open, I can screen share so that students can see my writing in real time; it's also useful for scanning notes for absent students. Set- It was simple and quick to set up, and the image is crisp. For the price, this is an excellent purchase.
