While it can be used to LISTEN on a CB, it is not built to transmit over one. This antenna is a CB antenna, and it is best to use a CB antenna if you wish to transmit over the CB.

This product, along with a Uniden radio around $90-90, is a good affordable safety feature for my boat when I go out on the bigger lakes here in Arizona like Powell. As a bonus, it features a soldered PL 259 connector rather than a crimped one that is very difficult to use in marine environments. The $40 complete deal is a good one.
The Housing Commission "HC 5" The VHF Marine Antenna is 8 feet long. An antenna connector was cut to fit through a hole in a hardtop. I bought a $15 non-solder connector and bought the one on the antenna for $15. Trying to avoid soldering the bar back on was not an option.
It is a big end cord so there must be a hole in that end, but it comes with a rubber cork that acts as a good plug up for the hole on the wire. Secondly, I find it difficult to adjust the tightness or loosening of the cable. In the event that the handle is over tightened, it may be able to step past the full tighten spot yet again. It's not a problem if you overtighten it, but it will make you tighten it again afterward. In addition, I would have liked to see some kind of tie down for the antenna tip so that it would not bounce while in the down position. As a whole, the antenna works well and is very powerful.
In the end, it's just an antenna, but it seems to be very well made. There is an open lever on the antenna that allows it to be raised or lowered or its angle adjusted among several different I installed this antenna in my 13' RIB, as its sturdy construction makes it not flex the same way that a lawn mowing pole would. The fiberglass shaft of the antenna is fairly light, considering the size of the antenna. As the 5' antenna is attached to the transom, it is almost exactly 3' taller than the motor, so I glued the LEDs to the transom as well. As a result, I have a retractable antenna as well as compliant all-in-one It seems like a great idea to incorporate light into one (hopefully a manufacturer will come up with it). Its reception and transmission strength are a bit better than the shorty steel antenna that replaced it. Due to the longer antenna and possibly because it may be able to be aligned vertically regardless of the vessel's pitch while underway, I believe this to be the case.
This seller would not be a good recommendation for.
Almost 7 months since it was last updated. It's a good program. You should get good reception while you are Our trips aren't too far, but they do make an impression. Aside from that, the only problem I have is that it's a pain in the ass to move the slider Teeth do not seem to be strong when they are mangled It is still a good product.
