So, I've recently taken up turntable DJing. I've been using a DDJ-2000 since the beginning of the year. Before that, I was using an SX2 DJ controller. Two Gemini PT 2000 mk2 turntables were given to me as gifts, and they're basically Technics 1200 clones. Anyway, they had some raggedy needles on them when I first got them, so I replaced them with two new Numark CC-100 needles. I purchased one cart/stylus combo on this site. The needles skipped like crazy when I tried scratching on the turntables. It would be better at times than at others, but I am confident in stating that the CC- Regardless of how precisely you calibrate it, 1 skips. When I googled "best DJ carts for scratching," this came up as one of the middle-of-the-road options. I decided to purchase one to put it to the test, and I can confidently say that they are excellent for scratching. I can scratch both my scratch and control 7inch vinyls without the needles skipping. It may skip if I'm too enthusiastic and shake the turntable/tonearm too much, but it stays rock solid when I use proper technique. It stays in the groove even when the volume is turned down and the vinyl is pulled back. This is a fantastic cart/stylus combination, and the price is unbelievable. It costs $20 less than the Numark CC-. 1 and it is more effective than the other. This is a good choice if you don't want to spend nearly $300 on a Shure M447. It has a great sound and performs admirably. Overall, I give it five stars.
I purchased it for the price I paid and for the reasons I did. It's fine; I'll use it to complete one of two turntable packages I'm selling (the cart simply completes the package, allowing the next guy to play right away). It sounded clear, crisp, and there was no humming noise when I first played it (on my Tech 12). "Hello" in a figurative sense. However, in comparison to my other deck, which is equipped with a Shure m44-based microphone, it is hi-fi and audiophile. It has a much lower output and is much less bassy at number seven. I had to increase the gain and level (on the mixer) while also lowering the treble and mids. For the price I paid, I'd say it's worth it. I'm listening to smelly records on it, and I'll be selling it. As such, the mission has been completed. This, on the other hand, is more for guys who are just starting out. I'll hear how a more expensive model sounds when I get another Ortofon.
,THIS THING IS AMAZING, I currently own about $11,000 in audiophile equipment, I've never bought a DJ cart before, I'm not a DJ and never will be, I bought it because of all the hype I'd heard and it was dirt cheap, figuring I'd just give it to my kid, well no way is it going to my kid LOL,this thing is extremely impressive, the sound quality is amazing, this thing has great lows and amazing top end, mids Again, I don't use this for DJing; I only use it to listen to audio files, and it provides you with everything you could want in a fantastic listening experience. This is the cart for you if you want something under $400. This card has an audiophile quality that no other cart has, and for the price, I would recommend a $400 Goldring cart, which is also a very impressive cartridge company. ,With the Pioneer PC, this cart sounds incredible- HS01, which I also bought from Amazon due to its excellent reviews, is a fantastic set-up, and I thank you all for your wonderful products.
I'm very pleased with them. These Pro S series can do everything from mixing house music and vocals to scratching. The sound quality is excellent. As for scratching, it's a different story. Crab, two-click flares, scratch on the autobahn, and so on. They were able to withstand anything I threw at them.
On club 1200s, these will almost certainly sound better, and they will undoubtedly look better than those embarrassingly cheapies.
It's well worth it; I'm a scratch and blend DJ, and these are excellent. I put these through the ringer with no extra weight on the headshells, the needle doesn't skip or jump, and the needle doesn't skip or jump. The money was well spent.
However, for home use and practice, these are unbeatable. Also, DVS works well!.
I am very pleased with it. It's got a nice weight to it, and it sounds great! I'll be there for a late-night dance party.
