Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use this as a replacement for the vm 95se on the at 120 turntable?

Yes, it is possible. In fact, I swapped out the VM95SE cartridge in my Audio-Technica AM/FM radio. An AT95SH cartridge is used on a Technica turntable. Both the tracking and the sound were vastly improved.

Does this cartridge come with a Shibata stylus?

This cartridge does, in fact, include a stylus. This one has made me very happy. Audio Technica has always been my go-to brand. It was simple to set up on my 40-year-old Pioneer turntable.

My turntable is a slb270 with an 800e cartridge. Is one of these cartridges going to be able to take its place?

The AT cartridge might not be a P-cartridge if it has a different head shell or an adaptor. It's a direct mount to headshell, just like the 800e.

Is this compatible with the Technics SL- 10 tt in a straight line?

Except for one version of a Yamaha turntable, all linear tracking turntables use a "P" mount cartridge. The pins on mounted cartridges are smaller, and the cartridge slides into the tonearm easily. There isn't much out there for them because they all track at 2 grams (built in). You must purchase a turntable with a standard cartridge mount if you want the same level of quality as a standard turntable.

This is a real find
5/5

I admit that new stereo components, particularly turntables and cartridges, captivate me easily. My most recent cartridge, out of a long line of many, was a Nagaoka MP-100. 110 points for having an MP- Stylus number 200. I bought it because I was bored with my Nagaoko and wanted to try something new. Because I'd never used a Shibata stylus before, I went with the VM95SH. I had the Nagaoko even if I didn't like it. Wow! This was installed on my Music Hall mmf 2 (yay for a simple captive bolt-on system). 3 and was completely taken aback. Knotscott and other reviewers did an excellent job of describing the AT's sound. The AT lacks the Nagaoko's lushness and has a softer treble than the Nagaoko. but only to a certain extent The percussion is tight and crisp, the voices, guitar, and piano are clean and clear, and the treble is beautifully detailed. The VM95SH is as quiet as any cartridge I've ever owned, with no treble exaggeration like some AT cartridges. The 95SH excels at positioning instruments in a large, deep soundstage. Although there is a lot of detail, it never comes across as obnoxious or unpleasant. This cartridge is as neutral as I could imagine, without sounding cold or clinical in the least. Listening to it is pure pleasure. It was a good $200 investment.

Excellent audio quality The AT- The VM95SH produces excellent sound from the deepest bass to the highest treble, with exceptional detail resolution, clarity, and no inner groove distortion
5/5

At this price point, this is, in my opinion, the best phono cartridge available. In addition, I have the AT-AT-AT-AT-AT-AT-AT Cartridge for the VM95ML (Micro Linear). The VM95SH has a slightly "warmer" character with a more dynamic bass/midrange (more "punch"). They are both excellent cartridges and sound similar. Depending on your preferences, the small price difference between the VM95SH and the VM95SH may be worth it. Or, if you're like me, get both and enjoy their distinct sound characteristics (for a lot less money than any cartridge that beats either of these).

I found exactly what I needed
5/5

Audio- AT- Applied Technology VM95SHbr>br>Updated on January 17, 2022. br>br>"I've been using this new Cartridge and Stylus for almost a year now, and I've got to say, I'm glad I bought this AT model. I mentioned that I could tell a difference in the sound, and guess what? My wife couldn't believe it was a new cart. Stylus had the ability to make such a difference that she could actually hear it. So, on the Technics SL-100, it's Vinyl on and music turned up a little louder, just like today. Turntable from the year 1700 that has never sounded better. br>So, if you're looking at this collection, you should know that up, I believe you get more value for your money, and you do come out ahead on occasion! I'm going to do it again. this set should be purchased When the time comes, get back up because things don't last forever. "br>br>Shibata stylus on a dual moving magnet phono cartridge. br>I had no idea how much music I had been missing because of a bad stylus that I had thought was a great stylus for years but was actually a terrible stylus for 40 years. Yes, it sounds bad, and it is in some ways, but I did use good Diamond tipped styluses and cartridges from the "Stanton" brand, both of which are excellent. They didn't actually destroy my albums; it was just that moment when you realized, "Man, I've been doing this wrong for years. " br>I did a lot of searching and kept coming back to this one cartridge and stylus because I believe the price is really a bargain compared to some I've looked at and they only just stand up to this ones and the price of this one makes it the one to choose because I think I have the correct cartridge and especially the "Shibata" Stylus made it the right one to buy. I don't think the other stylus model, the Microline stylus, is any better, and I don't see how it would make a significant difference. You'd have to pay a lot of money in this price range to find something better than this one and we're talking a few hundred dollars if you've been looking yeah 7 to over a thousand or more and I don't know many people who would pay that amount because I wouldn't, so that brings us back to this set-up. So far, I'm very pleased, and I can hear a difference in the albums, with a little better bass and higher guitar sounds that weren't present prior to this set-up. up is doing its job for a reasonable price. Take a look around, and I'm sure you'll come back to this one.

VM95SH - For Rega Planar 3 and Quad Speakers, this is an excellent cartridge
5/5

I suffer from severe hearing loss and am extremely sensitive to brightness and extended treble. This cartridge was recommended by a Rega representative. br>br> I listened to some Ortofon Red, Blue, and other AT cartridges. They were all impressive, but I couldn't stand them because they were so bright. This cartridge has a lot of depth and warmth, as well as a lot of detail.

This is an excellent cartridge
5/5

On my new Fluance TT, I purchased this to replace the stock cartridge. The cost of $200 was less than the Ortophone Blue, which was my other option. I was looking for a sound stage with good bass. I also needed a stylus that was forgiving. After a few months of use, I'm satisfied. It's a step up from the OM10. Great sound, with a full bass, good mids, and adequate treble. The sound stage is both large and deep. In general, this is a good buy.

A sound that surpasses that of Jeff Bezos! This cart makes a sound that rivals Jeff Bezos'! It has a fantastic timbre as well
5/5

It's a steal at only $200. For all of my new turntable setups, I use the Audio Technica VM 95 series, but if you have the extra cash, the SH is a must-have.

Although the sound quality is excellent, the delivery is awkward
4/5

The first delivery went missing, and it took an extra week for Amazon to arrange for a second delivery. Amazon's perplexing "tracking" messages and lengthy wait to cancel the first order and "purchase" the item a second time did not meet my expectations for customer service. I was very pleased with the stylus once I received it. It was relatively simple to install on my head shell, and the sound quality was excellent.

Fits most turntables and tonearms with a 1/2 standard mount and is simple to set up
5/5

Great sound, very low surface noise (50-year-old records), excellent detail and bass, lovely midrange, would recommend, best cartridge/needle combination under $200. 00, not to mention free shipping.
