There are two things about this headshell that are very annoying. 2. . . It is very hard to screw in the Cartridge due to the cartridge mounting screws being a little too large for the mounting rails on the headshell. It is almost impossible to get it just right since just getting the screws tightened will cause the cart to sag.
2. Approximately one eighth of an inch is located between the four contacts on the end of the headshell that connect to the tonearm Their length is 16ths longer than they ought to Using overhang gauges becomes more difficult if this is the case and the fit to the tonearm is not Apart from that, it seems fine, but QC concerns led to it being sent back to me.
It appears to be in good condition and almost exactly There is no gold to be found- Lead wires that are plated. Not happy at all.
I was able to mount my Audio-Tel without difficulty Using the headshell of this cartridge, it can be used with the S-Technica mono cartridge The tonearm on my Fluance RT-700 is shaped It turns out perfectly on the 85 turntable. There seems to be a very high level of quality. Among the mounting hardware was an assortment of screws. As soon as the headshell and cartridge were mounted together, the sound was impressive.
Audio-Technica writes that this is a good looking headphone, but it does not have gold-plated connectors, which is not true This is technical. If you are working with only 3, that's all you need to know. It's probably not a big deal if the voltage is 5mV.
As soon as I bought a cheaper headshell, I noticed the alignment pin was not in the center as it should be. In an attempt to find more affordable headshells of higher quality, I began browsing through several different websites. The AT made its way across I was able to use the old tone arm on my Sansui SR-600 The original is a little heavier than this one. From Audio Technica, this is a great product.
Your time is too valuable to waste on anything less. I tried a couple of other bargain head shells and they failed. As presented to the Felt solid, was finished well, and the wiring was up there with any other shell (in this class) I've seen. There was good contact protection at the base end, as well as some of the best fitting cartridge connectors I have ever seen. It has worked perfectly with multiple tables and I have not had any issues mounting or aligning it.
it with my Technics TT, nice to have a spare headshell or two for switching out cartridges, the only detriment is resetting the tracking etc. Better than having to remove one cartridge, replace it with another, and then shut down the TT.
Using this with my KD 500 tone arm, it worked perfectly for an Ortoforon Blue cartridge.
