I'm pleased with it so far after three weeks. Although there are a few flaws, this is a stunning piece of technology. br>br>I bought the Edifier R1280Ts Powered Bookshelf Speakers, and they're fantastic. PROS: br>br>
- I purchased the dark mahogany version, which is stunning. br>- -br>-br>-br>-br>-br> It's simple to put together thanks to the video instructionsbr>- br>- Plays at the correct speed All necessary cables for connecting to active speakers are included. br>br>CONS:
- When the last song on the record is finished, the record continues to spin without stopping.
- The arm does not return to its starting position; -br>everything is manualbr>everything is manualbr> To stay open, the dust cover must be completely propped open. So, if you have a bookshelf with a top that you can't fully open, you'll have to use one hand to keep it open while the other puts a record on.
- There is no place to store the small piece that you use to play 33's. All you have to do now is place the player on the screen and watch it move around and possibly become lost. br>- I'd like to see a video that demonstrates how to adjust the weight for different effects.
Angels Horn is not a well-known or reputable brand, as I discovered after placing an order based on favorable reviews. After proper assembly and testing on several power supplies, the unit I received was defective and wouldn't turn on. br>br>While searching for troubleshooting videos on YouTube, I came across videos that clearly demonstrate how this company uses fake reviews (and at one point, a fake Missouri address) to sell a cheap and unreliable product; I have returned the unit and will not be purchasing any more Angels Horn products. br>br>It appears to be a good product, but don't be fooled by the positive reviews. Choose a reputable company that has been in business for a long time.
But, first and foremost, you must be a true audiophile to appreciate the way this turntable was designed and built. br>br>The days of the automatic turntable, where you simply drop on a stack of records and walk away, are long gone. Those were the wretchedest things I'd ever seen! Sure, you had more free time, but it was at the expense of your records. One of those items would not even be considered by a true collector. br>br>First and foremost, the turntable's body is made of ONE SOLID PIECE OF OAK! There will be no particle board, no hollow box, and no cheap junk! br>br>Then there's the one that's right in front of you: There are no multiple gears or belts in this belt drive system. And the motor only has one task: to turn the turntable. Changing the records and adjusting the tonearm are your responsibilities, as they are with any turntable worth its 'top of the line' designation. br>br>Another consideration is the tonearm. As we all know, applying too much (or too little) pressure to a record can affect the sound quality as well as the vinyl's longevity. Furthermore, vinyl is a delicate medium that is regarded as one of the best sources of true stereophonic sound. Vinyl collectors seek out the highest-quality recordings and do everything possible to preserve them. We treat our records with respect and affection when we play them. This turntable's tonearm was custom-made for us. Its counterweight is ideal, allowing us to fine-tune the balance down to the microgram level. This tonearm has the most precise adjustment of any tonearm I've seen. It's a nice feature to be able to switch between input types. br>br> Some of us prefer to bring our own preamps so that we can fine-tune the sound quality even further. I do. Thank you very much. br>br>Those who have their turntable out on top will appreciate the dust cover. I chose to leave mine turned off because it is contained within my entertainment center. br>br>I am ecstatic with my Angel's Horn turntable, and I am delighted to award it five stars.
The deep Mahogany wood, with its highlighted red grains, is stunning! This is a turntable to be treasured for a long time. And for $179, it's a great deal. br>br>The set-up is as follows: br>br> It was simple to set up, and I recommend watching the YouTube video for instructions on how to use the counterweight. Overall, listening to John Coltrane while relaxing on my sofa took me 30 minutes from start to finish. br>br>I have some old school tower speakers from the early 1990s that have dual 10" subwoofers, a midrange, and a tweeter that improved the sound even more! My next purchase will be a tube amplifier (rather than a cheap hybrid model), and listening to my collection of LPs from the 1970s to today will be even more enjoyable! br>br>I haven't had a turntable in over 20 years, and after listening to John Coltrane last night, I realized I should have bought one years ago! 04-br>br>05-br>06-br>07-br>08-br>09 2021 - a comment was added - I'd get a silicone turntable mat instead of the felt one because the felt one comes off every time you flip or remove an LP.
The majority of people have not purchased this machine! This product is excellent, despite a slew of negative reviews from "vinyl snobs" who claimed it was a cheap knockoff. That's not the case! It appears to be wonderful. It's simple to set up. They also included a card that could be used to contact customer service if necessary. This record player comes highly recommended by me. It is well worth the effort.
