Questions & Answers

Could you please let me know if this is ?

Yes, I did purchase a satin black dress

It is crucial that I find a machine that will play both my 33s and old wax records. My requirements are not too high, except that the software should be easy Do you think this machine would work?

When you have a lot of 78's, and don't mind playing them on a machine, it's a good idea to invest in a 78's music cartridge. It can play 78 as others have stated, but it has a drawback the headshell is not removable, so you cannot swap out the cartridges easily. Each time you change cartridges, the geometry needs to be re-set and the tone arm needs to be rebalanced and the tracking force needs to be adjusted. Playing 78's and containing removable head shells, the Audio Techinca LP120 is a good deck. The cards are not as good as the one below, but they are still

The turn table comes with a receiver, but what kind do you recommend? Am I better off spending a few extra dollars on a camera that is a few dollars more expensive than the Sony str-DH190? A $300ish amount?

Sony's STR DH190 has a phono input, which makes it a receiver that will work. There are many receivers from a variety of brands (Sony, Denon, Marantz, Onkyo, etc) which all perform similarly at a price of under $300. For my money, I would buy a used, 2 year old $500 receiver for $300. The HDMI features are the same as the older generation, but they contain more power, which usually results in a better sound. In terms of technology, amplifiers are not much different from what they were a couple of years ago. You may also consider an upgrade to the Receiver models in the $300 range work, but do not impress.

Is it common to experience static sound (crackling and popping)? It seems to be the platter. I'm using an anti-static brush, but could it be the ?

There were a lot of pops and cracks in mine. My skin cleared up as soon as I backed off the needle slightly from the recommended amount.

This was a lot better than I To begin with, let me mention that I'm not an audiophile by any stretch of the imagination, but I do know what I like when I listen to Since I bought my first direct drive turntable nearly forty years ago, I have owned many more I had bought this one and others at a cost over twice as much as the one I bought here over five years ago
5/5

Choosing a belt drive TT is what I decided to do this time around. Originally I was going to order a more expensive one but then came You made a good choice! *Pros The Sumiko Rainier cartridge sounds great out of the box (I imagine it will get better over time?)
I like how the steel platter is well damped
The feet make it easy to level the There is some weight difference compared to what I am used to
I am not used to having to raise the tonearm to clear the stand
The tonearm is far lighter than what I am Having only three feet to work with is awkward for now*i'm sure with a little time I'll get used to it and will see what a good decision I made.

Listed below are some of the best record players My Panasonic PL-97 fully automatic record player was vintage 1998, so I purchased this one to replace it On a trip to eastern Europe, I had seen one at a record shop and ever since then, I've wanted one
4/5

I love how simple and sophisticated this turntable is. There was a lot of engineering that went into it If you don't see it, it doesn't exist. The good thing is that it is a good thing here. We are not using chrome and flash on our site. Despite a clean line and high manufacturing quality, quality is not compromised. My old TT felt mostly plastic, but this one feels solid, and the dust cover is the only piece of plastic as opposed to that. A few of the pros The vehicle is solid, heavy, and has a ton of design you cannot see or hear, but I am sure you can tell it exists. I am finding that my old TT sounded better, yet this one seems to bring a bit more life to the records. It's the cartridge and needle that make up the bulk of it A $150 match between Sumiko Rainer and Nick Goodwin. There is also a $20 Audio Technia needle and cartridge built in. The answer is not certain. However, it is likely to be We are consistent in our speed. No motor noise can be heard. The platter does not vibrate and does not echo. Below is a list of the cons I paid $500 for it. While I enjoyed the music from the old TT just as much as this one, I wanted something different. I set up the machine fairly easily, but I had to adjust the tone arms' tracking force vertically. You don't need to be hard on yourself, but it does take some time and getting used to. It will affect the sound of your music if it isn't set properly When you force it too much it will sound low. When you force it too little it will sound bright. Several attempts were necessary for me to get it right. The conclusion is My motivation for buying this TT was to get something with the best engineering I could afford and not have to worry about upgrading. There are pros and cons to It ticks all my boxes and I'd recommend the Ject Debut Carbon Evo. In any case, I would have purchased the U-55 if I didn't have a nostalgic attachment to the turntable Make orbit a 180 degree turn. The product is made in the USA, and from my correspondence with them, they have top notch customer service. It may not come with all the bells and whistles under the hood, but that could actually be a good thing. They have a fully set up tone arm and an internal anti-theft system This is skateboarding. Although these things aren't particularly difficult if you just want to listen to music, it is less of a hassle. It can be purchased for $350 with an acrylic platter, which is similar to the above TT. Considering them both is a good idea! I have updated It has been some time since I have been using the TT and I My old TT didn't produce the same color and sound quality I can hear with this The quality is at least as good as that of a CD.

It's a terrific deck for the price, and I can't really think of anything to dislike about it
5/5

This kit comes with a big foldout guide on how to set it up right, so you know what to do from the start. There is only one thing missing from this their recommendations for where to install antifreeze On the tonearm, you can see a skate line. There is nothing you can do about it except The Jet web site offers a different setup guide you can download that indicates how you should put your cartridge based on its weight. That was the first thing I did after ordering so I could review it, so there was little to no problem with that. Having leveled the deck and installed the anti-skid, you can then begin installing the anti-skid There isn't much else to get set up then (aside from getting rid of all the packaging, of course). When you first try to level with only three feet, it seems kind of strange, but when you really mix it up with the setup, it actually becomes much easier because you can get your backside set up, and then adjust your two front feet much easier. Check your level before you take the test! It has been noted that some reviews have complained about the tone arm's handling, such as the difficulty in lifting the tab to raise it. Somehow my hands must be different, because I haven't complained about any of the issues that I've read about It seems the table itself does not contribute much to any additional noise levels. I don't hear much in the way of additional sounds created by it. The more I use it, the more I like the sound. I've been using it for two weeks now. The collection of vinyl I own includes old vinyl I purchased back in the 80s and 90s, 180 gram LPs, and remastered singles Those that have been released more recently. This is a great record player that does justice to every one of my old records, as it does the newest pressings as well. I'm considering swapping it for an Ortofon Blue I have if it makes a difference. The Sumiko cartridge sounds good to me, but I'm thinking of switching to an Ortofon Blue. Despite this, the Sumiko works pretty well as a "all types of music" player, and it is pretty simple to upgrade the stylus on, as well. Although I know I'll ultimately have to change the cartridge, the fragility of the tonearm leads as compared to my big fat fingers and lack of tweezer practice have me concerned. Aligning is easy for me, but it is soldering those tiny items after I have broken them that is hard for me In addition to adding heat shrink around the lead/contact solder joint, a big improvement is the added heat shielding around the keyhole and groove I owned this piece of equipment. There is also shielding on this where the others are not It's pretty evident that the JEC I had didn't work. I'm very happy with the purchase, I was using vintage Marantz and Pioneer decks that had more modern cartridges and I'm really happy with my new purchase. It would be better for me to give them a rest. They've served their purpose admirably, and can go into my spare gallery.
