Questions & Answers

Why should there be tonal mismatches if every speaker brand strives for neutrality? Why am I obligated to purchase a center from the same manufacturer?

Most speakers, in my experience, have their own tonal quality; however, this does not rule out the possibility of speakers from different manufacturers, or even different models from the same manufacturer, sounding good together. My home theater system consists of a Polk S35 center channel speaker, four Bose 301 series speakers, and a Polk PSW505 subwoofer. They sound fantastic together, far superior to my old Bose center channel.

Is it possible to use this with a marantz sr5012 and a Martin Logan esl hybrid 8? I'm concerned that the voice tone will be different. ?

90% of the voices come from the center channel, so you should notice a difference, but personally, I would stay with Martin Logan's center channel and stick to their quality.

Is the rti a7 floor standing speaker compatible with the signature s35? Is it better to use the s35 as the center channel speaker or should I go with another speaker for the rti?

The polk csi a6 or csi a4 center speaker is a good choice.

What type of screws should I use to hang something on a concrete wall?

My speaker is not mounted on the wall; instead, it is housed in a home entertainment cabinet. To wall mount in concrete, drill holes in the concrete with a masonry drill bit of the recommended size for the concrete wall anchors you'll be using, then screw the anchors into place. Make sure the screw's head fits through the speaker's mounting hole on the back. Your local hardware store can provide mounting hardware kits (screws, anchors, and drill bits). Of course, you'll need a drill, a screwdriver, and a hammer (for hammering the wall anchor into place).

Polk Audio has won yet again
5/5

There's a lot of bang for your buck here. The Polk RM6750 5 is something I've had for a long time. For more than a few years, you'll only need one package. The center channel speaker was always the weak point in the system, despite the fact that it was a very good mid-range system overall. I found myself constantly adjusting the center speaker's "sound level" to find a range where the satellites didn't drown out the movie dialogue. br>br>Before deciding on Polk, I did a lot of research and even called him.

Narrow Spaces: The Best Center Speaker I'm not an audiophile, but I'd say I have a good ear (as evidenced by the fact that I have a good ear on multiple occasions)
5/5

state and regional choirs, with fine-arts majors continuing in choir in college). I have a good enough ear to recognize the people who do voices in animated films (assuming I've seen them in other films), including people who my wife considers obscure. I enjoy all types of music, though these days I prefer to use my stereo system for home theater rather than music. This is just to give you some context on my hearing and preferences, as which speakers a person enjoys is determined by these factors. br>br>However, I purchased this speaker because I no longer had space for my beloved center speaker. I own a Yamaha RX-1000. A1030 receiver (110 watts per channel) paired with a Yamaha NS-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX C444 center speaker (maximum power of 250 watts, nominal power of 100 watts; 55 Hz - 35 kHz), as well as two Yamaha NS- 777 towers (maximum power of 250 watts and nominal power of 100 watts); 30 Hz - For my main speakers, I use a frequency of 35 kHz. For full surround sound, I use the surround speakers that came with our home. I adore my front-of-house setup, which goes low enough that I can physically feel explosions without the need for a subwoofer. But we put in a fireplace, and there's no other place for our TV than above it (though I wish there was). My center speaker had just over 4" of clearance between the top of the mantel and the bottom of my TV as a result of this. As a result, my cherished NS- C444 had to be removed from the equation. I swapped it out for a Yamaha NS-100. C210 (maximum power of 120 watts, nominal power of 40 watts; 65 Hz - 45 kHz), but it wasn't quite the same (though it was still better than a phantom center). br>br>We just got a new TV, and it gave me an extra one. Because I only had 5" of space, I looked for a better center. The Polk S35 was the closest (20-degree) match to my towers when I was looking for a new center. 200 watts per channel The frequency range is 53–40 kHz. It was also the most cost-effective option, especially if you consider the possibility of wanting to replace the towers with a matching set in the future. I believe I will continue to prefer my NS- C444, but the Polk S35 is a close second and far superior to the NS-100. C210. The base is much more prominent, which gives the voices a fuller and more accurate sound in my opinion. I've watched a few movies on my modified system, and the S35 blends in much better with my towers (so far) than the ND-X. S210, despite the fact that it was made by the same company. I was so impressed with the S35 that I ordered two refurbished S60 towers from Polk (20-year warranty). 300 watts per channel a frequency range of 26 Hz to 40 kHz; Since I plan on putting a projector in the basement and would need a second set of speakers anyway (now the future home of my three matching Yamahas), I paid $315 tax per speaker to get matching sound up front (the refurbished price was too good to pass up). This center speaker is fantastic. br>br>I can't say enough good things about it. If I had the space, I would obviously choose a center with larger woofers. Six 3" woofers, on the other hand, have roughly the same surface area as the two 5" woofers in my NS-100. It's possible that this is why it's so similar to C444. So, if you're like me and only have room for a short center speaker, the Polk S35 is a must-have. I didn't just order S60 towers to try to quantify my recommendation; I also ordered the S30 center (used - I bought two S20 bookshelf speakers (refurbished from Polk for $160 tax / pair) for my home gym (like new on Amazon for $130 tax). To put it another way, I liked the S35 enough to take a chance on five more speakers for $847 (total w/ tax). That is all that needs to be said.

The center and L/R channel speakers have excellent sound quality
5/5

The sound quality of the S35 speakers is excellent. In comparison to my previous polk setup, this is a HUGE improvement. I have three of these s53s for my center and front L/R speakers. They have a clear sound, with sharp music and dialogue. They're a decent size, with a six-inch projection from the wall and a weight of around 14 pounds, so don't expect them to be small. The construction quality is excellent. br>br>For scale, I've included photos of the speakers with a 65" 4k LG television.

This is a fantastic speaker to use with the Mantle- mount
5/5

First and foremost: This speaker has an excellent sound quality. The sound is extremely well-balanced as a whole. For a 4" speaker, it can also deliver respectable volume and bass. br>br>However, the real reason I bought it is because it's one of the few speakers on the market that can be attached to a mantle-style fireplace. mount a television on the wall I wasn't going to use one of those fuax surround sound amplified speaker bars. For the rest of my surround sound system, I already had Polks speakers. br>br>The speaker is a little heavy for the speaker mounting bar, but I was able to secure the bracket with wire ties and ensure that the speaker does not vibrate. Because the speaker is so thick, the pull handle on the Mantle mount can only be used to push it back up. However, you can still pull the mount down by grasping the speaker rail's sides.
