Questions & Answers

I'm looking for a good Sony receiver to connect my turntable to from behind the couch. ?

You should know that you can't just plug a phono into the other rca outlet; you'll need a preamp because phonos are low-voltage devices. The good news is that, aside from the cheapest junk, turntables with built-in preamps are extremely common. On Amazon, Audio Technica sells a nice one for around $250 that includes a preamp and a decent cartridge. Fluence rt 81 is the same as fluance rt 81. Don't waste your money on a $20 outboard preamp. It'll be a disaster.

So this uses Bluetooth to connect a number of speakers?

Chris: Hello there! br>br>Unfortunately, no; the receiver's Bluetooth feature does not allow Bluetooth speakers to be connected. Regards, Erin, br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>

Is it possible for me to use mb42x- Even though the impedance varies from 4 to 8 ohms, why do you use c speakers? The impedance of the receiver is 6 ohms. 16 ohms. Are you sure I'll be fine?

Yes, a speaker system with 4 to 8 ohms will work with this AV Receiver, according to Ryan J. http://www.br>br>https://www.br>br>https://www.br>br //www. sony. com/electronics/support/res/manuals/4726/55cd375e0f9e7103f2b6baa747ed9072/47269061M com/electronics/support/res/manuals/4726/55cd375e0f9e7103f2b6baa747ed9072/47269061M com/electronics/ page 15 of the pdf) br>br>Regards,br>Davidbr>Setting/Connecting Speakers)br>br>

Selected User Reviews For Sony STRDH590 5.2 Channel Surround Sound Home Theater Receiver: 4K HDR AV Receiver with Bluetooth,Black

I'm not one to leave negative feedback
3/5

I rarely write negative reviews, but the HDR10 capability of my Xbox One X was not fully passed by this receiver. HDR10 video was supported, but HDR10 gaming was not. If I connected my TV directly to my Xbox One X, I was able to watch videos and play games in HDR10. The build quality is satisfactory, but the lack of advanced functionality, as well as the lack of an AUX-in jack, are significant drawbacks. IN was a huge disappointment at this price point. I returned the Sony and replaced it with a Yamaha RX-100. V385. It's $50 less expensive, has a lot more features and advanced controls, supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision, and has an AUX input. IN, and allows you to layer audio from one source over video from another, which is a feature I've wanted for a long time. You'll be glad you skipped this stack and went with the Yamaha.

This is an excellent, low-cost small-room surround solution
5/5

I made a simple 5-point list. In my small den, I have one surround system based on a Yamaha amp that has started to fail - It'd turn on by itself (yes!). ), would frequently mute the volume, wouldn't always allow volume control from the remote, would occasionally cause picture resolution to drop, and so on yada-yada-yada-yada-yada-yada-yada-y yada- yada. Because the sound was mostly satisfactory, I decided to change gears and replace the amp with this Sony STRDH590. What a difference there is between the two. Setup and calibration couldn't be simpler. The sound stage is rich, detailed, and enveloping. Most importantly, it gives my mediocre speakers a new lease on life in terms of clarity and crispness. I'm not an audiophile, but my ears can still detect a significant improvement in movie viewing at a relatively low cost; you'll enjoy this amplifier.

It turned out to be an excellent experience
3/5

The inputs are excellent, and the power is adequate. HDMI 2. 0 fps, 4k hdr10, 60 fps passthrough (Turn on the option for enhanced HDMI. ) Control of the arc. It appeals to me. br> Update: May 2020, and my surround left channel is no longer working. The receiver had only been alive for two years when he died. Coming from a Sony aficionado, I'm disappointed. My previous Sony receiver had a 12-year lifespan. This was reduced from a five-star rating to a two-star rating. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a Denon.

This is a fantastic sound
5/5

This unit is powering some older techniques main speakers, as well as a center and surround set from a previous entertainment system. This unit sounds incredible, even with the questionable speakers. First and foremost, I use my iPhone or iPad to listen to music. As a result, I employ Bluetooth. Many audiophiles, I'm sure, cringe at that. This was set up and calibrated automatically by me. Bluetooth was selected in Music Surround, Mozart's 25th was played, and wow! Even my wife could tell that this setup was far superior to the previous one. Everything seemed to be in order. It had a rich, deep tone with bright, clear highs. There were no echoes or phony effects in the surround sound. It was almost as if you were in the orchestra pit. br>br>DVDs and cable TV sounded fantastic as well. The voices are difficult to understand for me. HD version of the film The voices are easily heard in the Digit setting, and there is even a night mode that clarifies them even more. br>br>Right out of the box, this unit performs admirably. It's powerful enough for that space and more, and I've got it set up in a small home office. However, if you want to annoy your neighbors, you'll probably need something a little bigger. br>br>I really like it, and I'm happy with my purchase.

An Affordably Priced 4K and HDR Pass-through Receiver Through
5/5

Sony got it right for the first time. A fantastic 4K and HDR pass-through receiver at an affordable price. through. There are two HDMI inputs on all of your devices. 2 people who are cooperative. Setup is simple and straightforward. At 145W per channel, there's plenty of power to go around. It's connected to a pair of BIC tower speakers as well as a Dayton subwoofer. will grow to five people 1 (or 5) in the near future 2 ). However, there is no need to hurry - has a Front Surround feature that truly makes two. 1 has a true surround sound effect. As long as this is still going on - It should, too, because it's heavy and built like a tank. My purchase has exceeded my expectations. Also, congratulations to the vendor - On Monday, I placed my order, and on Wednesday, it was delivered - Two days ahead of schedule!.

It was able to fill my ears in a way that no one else had been able to
5/5

I own a lot of Sony products, and I recently decided to replace my 15-year-old Sony receiver because it lost its surround capabilities, which I did with a Yamaha, but it was a huge mistake, with screechy highs and muffled bass, so I had to return it. I found this Sony STRDH590 in Amazon Warehouse deals, hoping it was a damaged package or repackaged, but it was actually a return. Even though it didn't have Wi-Fi, that fact didn't bother me, so I installed it. The sound was exactly what I expected, clear robust highs and potent bass, very well in sync with my Sony satellites rated 100 Watts satellites, 120 Watts center, and 120 Watts powered sub-woofer. I should never have chosen a different brand, woofer.

The low cost was well worth it
5/5

I'd been putting off purchasing an audio/video receiver for a long time, but I'm glad I finally did. I used to have a 'home theater in a box' setup, but I wanted to be able to run surround sound for all of my devices without having to run a dozen cords back and forth from the television or projector. I finally caved and bought this receiver, along with a very attractive subwoofer, after experimenting with four-in-one HDMI switchers. My old surround sound speakers worked with the new receiver, but I needed an active sub because most subs that come with a 'home theatre in a box' are passive. It was well worth the money because being able to tweak the sound to my exact specifications is very satisfying, and now my home theater has a clean look and a very full sound. There are no issues with 4K passthrough; everything is transmitting at its maximum capacity. P. br>br>P. br>br>P. br>br>P. The ability to sync with my Sony television is an added bonus.

For me, as with all Sony products, this is a fantastic product
4/5

This is fantastic. I upgraded from a Sony 5 from 2005. 1 A/V receiver with insufficient HDMI ports and no HDMI/ARC compatible port to allow me to play my TV audio through the receiver without using a separate digital video cable. I also required a 4k pass. I also wanted to add another sub-channel because of the new receiver's capabilities. I've added a subwoofer to my surround sound system. The configuration menu that appeared on my TV was also quite nice, and it made it a lot easier to set up all of the other equipment that I had connected to the receiver. My only complaint is that when my old Sony receiver remote control was compatible with my Sony Blu-ray player, it was not compatible with this one. This receiver's remote is NOT compatible with a Blu-ray player. It's a bit surprising, given that they're both Sony. That's the only reason I didn't give it five stars.
