I've found that this is the smallest radio I've seen that has a weather band. I'd recommend going slowly while tuning to give the radio a chance to "lock on. ". The tuning is a bit finicky because of this, but once the radio achieves a good signal, the red LED lights up and it stays on the channel for a while, so it won't drift off as some analog pocket radios do. Although the telescopic antenna is extended, a good reception is still obtained on AM and FM bands. The battery life of the radio seems to be good, as I left it running all night with 2 AAA rechargeable Eneloop batteries, and in the morning the radio was still working. The foremost reason for my choice of this particular radio was the weather reception, as I was able to tune into my local NOAA Weather Radio station when severe weather was forecast. While the sun was in the sky, the AM band picked up all the local stations in my area (Phoenix) during the day and was able to pick up stations over 800 miles away (Dallas Texas and Lexington Nebraska) once the sun set. This little radio doesn't seem to miss a beat even if I live in an apartment complex with many variables causing interference. There is a lot of sound coming from the speaker. It is not surprising that the sound quality would be that of a radio the size of an Altoids On an element so small, the presence of a camera is more of a luxury. With the FM band, this phone works well as an antenna, and the jack for the headphones also works as one. It surprised me that a radio with a weatherband could be purchased at this price point, and it does what it is meant to do. am probably going to buy more as gifts for my family and friends. The pocket radio is nice. It is a fantastic bonus to have NOAA. The radio I received today was a gift from my husband. Here are my initial thoughts, keeping in mind the price tag. My initial thought of this product was that it would be very sturdy. In fact, the sound quality is a little better than the Kaito KA-1000 I have There is an impressive difference between this and the Retekess because the Kaito has a slightly larger speaker and takes "AA" batteries instead of the Retekess' "AAA" batteries. There is one negative I have noticed, and that is that it takes a second or two to lock onto a station, but once it does, reception is terrific. As for the long-term quality, I cannot speak at the moment, but you do get what you pay for, so we'll see how it goes. This is a great deal for the cost and an almost outstanding product.

Radios like this are a great value for what they are. As much as I want to leave a three star rating, I almost feel guilty. You shouldn't buy a radio for less than $20 if your goal is to get good sound. The AM band as well as NOAA band can be heard on this. When I'm out and about during the NFL season, I always have this in my pocket. In addition to keeping it in my backpack when I'm camping, I'll also take it on hikes. Small FM/AM/NOAA radio that is probably the best value out there.

Radios of micro size are some of the best ever made. This AM station performs exceptionally well and the FM station is also very good.
The sound is like a big radio when you play it through earphones.
I am able to get news from 3 weather stations.
