For my new Pioneer radio, I couldn't figure out how to keep the factory mic from my Ford SYNC system. I still wanted to record in the factory, and this mic worked perfectly. I was able to remove the drivers pillar trim, upper door seal, and pull down the headliner enough to push the factory mic out, route the new mic up through the hole, and snap the SYNC mic back into place with room for the wire. Everyone says the mic is loud and clear on my phone calls, and my texts to Siri are always correct.
The microphones that wanted to be clipped on the visor irritated me a lot. They irritate me. This is located in the upper corner of my windshield and has a small footprint. There is no wire visible. It's just a neat and tidy setup!.
It's a step up from the factory mic from Pioneer.
It's simple to set up and use, but the sound is muffled, and the sound quality isn't great.
A fantastic purchase! After breaking my stock microphone on my Pioneer head unit, I used this and it works perfectly.
ON IT, EVERYONE I SPOKE TO COULD HEAR ME CRYSTAL CLEAR.
People never seem to be able to understand what I am saying.
It's better than having a miniature shotgun mic when it comes to sound clearance.
