After you've registered the device, you'll be able to track the vehicle. You can cancel your subscription at any time, but remember that once you receive the OBD Tracker, you must keep it plugged in at all times. Then, if and when you need to track the vehicle again, you can resume your tracking subscription whenever it is convenient for you. You will not be able to use your own SIM card because the Trackport comes with its own SIM card that you must activate online; you will not be able to use your own SIM card. Worst business I've ever done business with! As long as I can avoid it, I will not do business with Brickhouse Security again. The hassle of activation, password change, site telling me my username/password is invalid, and trying to contact the company was simply too much. When I finally got ahold of them, I cancelled my account and returned the product, which was a major hassle. IF YOU WANT INSTANT ACCESS, DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.
This GPS system is fantastic. Although the monthly subscription is a bit pricey, you get what you pay for in the end. The laptop's program is fantastic. I was able to monitor my young daughters' speed and distance traveled while driving alone. I haven't yet delved into the other useful features. You can save a little money if you pay for a year in advance, but I didn't because I wasn't sure if I'd like the app. I like how accurate the software is. I went with the GPS that connects to your car's OBD-II port. There are two ports under your steering wheel. It was very simple to set up. I purchased OBD-II as well. On Amazon, you can get two extension cables for $10. This allowed me to hide the GPS under the dashboard while maintaining access to the OBD port for engine diagnostics. The Apple I-Phone app is a great way to stay in touch with friends and family When my phone takes too long to start, I simply delete the app and reinstall it in a matter of seconds, and I'm immediately connected. The laptop's software is excellent. I like that the GPS can be easily unplugged and transferred to another vehicle. I would purchase this product again and recommend it to others; I chose the cheapest plan and am satisfied with it.
