Questions & Answers
It is not necessary to mount the GPS antenna directly to the window. I attached mine to the pillar between the door and the windshield with 3m adhesive tape.
I can't be certain. I have a V1 camera from the third generation. It is compatible with my camera.
Mine is mounted on the windshield, but it could easily be moved to the dashboard.

Although GPS technology hasn't changed, the GPS Rexing module I previously purchased is no longer compatible with the newer camera when switching from a V1 to a V2 Pro. This appears to be a money-making scheme. There should be no reason why the older one "could not be made to be compatible," but Rexing has chosen to force customers to purchase a new GPS module rather than make the later one compatible. This, in my opinion, is a devious ruse. I'll have to take the old one off the windshield, deal with all the sticky residue, and spend another $30. 00 and toss out my old Rexing GPS module, which was perfectly functional. This makes me angry.
The initial GPS lock took more than a minute, which is to be expected considering that a cold start GPS lock can take several minutes. In subsequent logs, however, it only took four minutes. The average time it takes to get a lock is 5 seconds. br>br>I purchased this item in order to receive automatic position reporting. I currently log using an app on my phone, but this requires me to fiddle with my phone every time I get in the car to begin logging. The fact that the latitude and longitude are encoded in a strange, proprietary format is the only thing keeping me from replacing my current setup with this product. I'm not interested in using the Windows/Mac player - The position reports must be imported into my personal database. It's a shame that this product doesn't allow you to export your data. However, don't let this deter you from purchasing this item - Third-party software exists that can extract the data (which is embedded in the MP4 file), and it's only a matter of time before they add support for this device.
The unit itself is fine, and the software on the computer is adequate, but the adhesive that comes with it is a complete waste of time. The adhesive will degrade in the heat of summer. The module will detach from the surface if you laminate it, which can be a real pain. I ended up replacing the original adhesive pad with 3M VHB tape, which appears to have solved the problem. It's worth noting that the Rexing dashcam comes with a 3M VHB pad. I'm not sure why they didn't do the same with the GPS logger.
I have a V1P 1st Generation and am unable to track my new HP all-in-one using Microsoft Edge. I'm using a browser that isn't compatible with Google JavaScript AVI Maps, according to the message. I've tried every browser and haven't been able to find anything.
