Questions & Answers

Is there a way to fold the keyboard back so I can use the iPad without it getting in the way?

It does not fold back beyond a somewhat upright position, but you can easily remove your iPad from the keyboard and use it on its own. It's only magnetically attached (though it does provide a good grip). It's simple to remove it from the keyboard and you're ready to go. My wife owns the smaller model, and it's a fantastic set-up. With my larger iPad Pro, I'm considering upgrading to this same solution.

Is it magnetically and electronically connected to the iPad "automatically"? Is this a Bluetooth connection?

It does, in fact, connect on its own. Three small copper circles can now be found on the back of iPad Pros. Apple's Smart Connector is what you're looking at. It's what allows the USB C Thunderbolt to send and receive data.

Why is it that my keyboard keeps typing the same characters over and over? For example, shift 8 gives me * rather than the (as shown above the 8 on the magic keyboard). ?

Check your keyboard setup in settings, general, keyboard, keyboards, and make sure it's the right one for you. I am an American who speaks English in the United States. I'm not sure if you received a foreign layout instead of the correct one because the markings on the keys are permanent. Apple is the person to contact.

Anyone know of a good case for the magic keyboard that also accommodates the Apple pencil? Also, does anyone have any tips for avoiding smudges on the skin?

Buddy, take a look at this case. It is compatible with the Magic Keyboard, protects the iPad when it is removed from the keyboard, and includes a pencil holder.

The keyboard is nice, but it's extremely expensive
3/5

It works well with my new iPad Pro. However, they appear to be price gouging to me. This keyboard should cost $199, not $349, in my opinion.

I got the grey version, which is perfect
5/5

This keyboard has a great typing feel to it, with crisp, clicky keys that travel well. It's very sturdy, and it firmly holds the iPad in place. It's definitely a high-quality product. As one would expect from Apple, the quality is excellent. I like how the iPad appears to float in front of your face. I'd like to be able to tilt the keyboard back a little more, as well as have function keys like other keyboards, but once you learn them, you can use command functions in their place. Also, thank you for the pass- through the process of charging Overall, this is a fantastic addition to your wardrobe!.

Although this is a fantastic keyboard, there is still room for improvement
4/5

This version (designed for the 5th generation, but it also works on the 4th and 3rd, I believe) is a little nicer than the previous model, in my opinion. br>br>It has a slightly thicker feel to it, but it isn't noticeably heavier to carry. br> One thing to note is that, due to the tablet's top heaviness, this model falls backwards in my lap much less than the previous generation. To combat this, they increased the keyboard's weight, which I think is a good idea. br>br>A function key row is still missing. br>br>I have the impression that the keyboard is slightly tilted backwards compared to the previous generation, but I don't have the previous generation, so it could just be my imagination. br>br>Has a left-side charging port in case you want to charge your iPad from the left rather than the right. (The magic keyboard charges directly from the iPad magnet connections, which is nice)br>br>More apps could support the keyboard and keyboard commands; for example, Hulu and a few others don't support play/pause, fullscreen, and other keyboard shortcuts. br>br>I'm not a fan of the exterior casing on this. While the material is pleasant to the touch, it does not appear to be of high quality, and I am concerned about its ability to withstand a few drops or mishaps, particularly around the edges. Fingerprints appear on black over time; I'm not sure about white, but I'm sure it's the same. br>br>Apart from that, it's an excellent product. br>br>4/5 - The price is high, the casing material does not feel durable, and there is no function key row, so the device loses a star.

It was well worth the money! The keyboard is fantastic, despite its high price
5/5

It's possible that the iPad will be able to take the place of a computer. It's ideal for scribbling notes quickly. The keyboard is well worth the money if you can afford it.

Is it too pricey? You betcha
4/5

Oh, yes, it's a high-quality product. The Magic Keyboard for 5th Generation iPad Pros has a lot going for it. It's a reliable and well-made product. built a product that is probably half as expensive as it should be, but I'm confident that anyone who buys one already knows that. br>br>Keyboard: The keyboard is very attractive. It was fantastic in every way. On a daily basis, I use my M1 MacBook Pro, and while typing on this isn't exactly the same, it's close enough. The key travel is excellent, and the space/size is ideal; however, I do wish it had a row of function keys. br>br>Tracker: br>br>Tracker: br>br>Tracker: br The trackpad is adequate in terms of functionality. When it comes to moving the cursor and clicking on apps and tasks, it is extremely responsive. I do wish that more apps took advantage of the Magic Keyboard's gestures and features, but I can't really blame the product for that. After all, this isn't MacOS. Quality: br>br>Quality: br>br>Quality: br>br>Quality This keyboard is of excellent quality, and it is slightly thicker than the previous generation to accommodate the slightly thicker 5th generation iPad Pro. When the iPad is connected, it feels solid, and I believe it leans a little further back than the previous generation, which is nice. br>br>Overall, I am very pleased with this product. At the end of the day, unless you're just surfing the web or shopping on Amazon, attaching this overpriced keyboard to the M1 iPad Pro isn't going to replace your laptop. iPadOS is still the stumbling block to using an iPad as an out-of-the-box device. As an alternative to a traditional laptop, this device can be used both inside and outside the house. However, the Magic Keyboard has its advantages, and if the price isn't an issue, I'd strongly recommend it.

It's a bit on the pricey side, but it's so worth it
4/5

This is what I got for my iPad Pro. I used to have a keyboard case, which was fine until it began to fall apart, didn't have a trackpad, and wasn't very sturdy. I had to restart the computer a few times before the trackpad would work. I like that I can pick it up by the base and move it around with the screen still visible, and that I can remove the pad and use it as a portable tablet. For me, the only drawback is the lack of a pencil holder for use when traveling or storing the pad in a backpack. Overall, I am pleased with this product.

Returned in exchange for a Logitech Combo Touch
3/5

You'd think that for $350, Apple would include a few more useful features. Following the completion of articles (i. e. I bit the bullet and ordered the Magic Keyboard after reading "worth every penny" on Mashable and others. ) It was nice, but it lacked some features, and it wasn't worth the outrageous price. br>br>I decided to go with the Logitech Combo Touch, which is about $100 less expensive. It comes with a detachable keyboard and a back case that protects the tablet's sides and corners. The case is textured and comes in a nice gray color. A larger trackpad, a function row for keys, and brightness levels are also included. It does not have a passcode lock, unlike Apple's Magic Keyboard. The keyboard sits in front of the tablet kickstand in the back, whereas Apple's floats above the keyboard, and it has a larger footprint. (These didn't seem to me to be worth $100 with so few features. ).

That is not the case for me
3/5

The Magic Keyboard is nice and well built, but it's not worth the money. I bought it for my new 12-inch MacBook Pro. In 2021, Apple will release a 9-inch iPad Pro. It's extremely limited, with only one position and a slight tilt where the iPad sits; at $350, I expected more. It didn't feel right; the keyboard and iPad were too close together, and there was nothing you could do about it. In the end, I had to send it back.
