Questions & Answers

Is it possible to lay it flat to use it as a tablet, or is it restricted to 130 degrees?

Only rotates to a maximum of 130 degrees, but the entire assembly can be flipped over to use as a tablet, or it can be easily removed.

Is there a skin recommendation for this because it gets so easily stuffed, damaged, and scratched?

Because the iPad is still vulnerable along the edges if dropped, I'm still on the lookout for a skin that works with it. Keyboards that are intelligent. However, because the iPad is magnetically connected to both keyboards, I believe it will be difficult to find one that can be used with both. in order to make use of the magnet connection It would be fantastic if Apple created "edge guards" that could be used while the iPad is connected to all of the keyboards. With the magnet, it is compatible. In the meantime, I've made iPad edge guards out of adhesive foam in the hopes that they'll come out with something similar.

Is it comfortable to use on your lap, and can it truly take the place of a laptop like the MacBook Air?

In your lap, it's very comfortable. Because I don't use a Mac, I'm not sure if it's a MacBook Air, but there are symbols and a touch pad and other things I'm not familiar with, so it could be.

It's a high-end, worthwhile item, but do your homework first
5/5

Some of the negative feedback on this site perplexes me. Before you buy this, keep in mind that it lacks function keys, is heavy, and can be difficult to open in the traditional manner. Excessive battery drain by the case has been reported on a sporadic basis, so I believe it must be the exception rather than the rule. This has never been an issue for me. br>In terms of the keyboard, I'll compare it to the keys on the smart keyboard folio, which is a mid-range device. The scissor switch mechanism is also used by Apple's bluetooth Magic Keyboard (second generation) and the 2012 Macbook Air. I had previously owned a folio keyboard and enjoyed typing on it, but this keyboard is without a doubt superior, and I am able to type much faster and more accurately on it. When it comes to the other two, the redesigned scissor keys make a significant difference - My 2012 Air's keys work fine, but they're a little mushier than this one; In comparison to the iPad Pro Magic Keyboard, the keys on the bluetooth Magic Keyboard feel sharper and more clacky, and I prefer this keyboard slightly more. The integration of the trackpad with the keyboard, however, is where the scales tip; with the folio, you'd have to interact with the screen directly for anything that couldn't be done with hotkeys (even if you remap the globe key as the Escape key, there are some limitations). However, having a quick way to scroll, navigate the screen, and engage the usual swipe gestures right next to the keyboard eliminates most of these issues, which is very nice. br>As for the function keys, yes, they'd be nice to have, but it's not the issue some are claiming. It is possible to map the Escape key to the globe key. The only controls I really miss are volume and brightness, which can be easily adjusted using the trackpad by clicking on the battery percentage indicator at the top right of the screen, which drops down the control center. It's not perfect, but it's more than adequate. Last but not least, there's the passthrough charging. I didn't think I'd be bothered by this because I don't use the side-port anymore; What I hadn't considered was how this feature effectively acts as a wireless charger for the iPad. I take the iPad off when I want to use it as a tablet, leaving the keyboard case open and plugged in on the desk, and then I simply pop it back on when I'm done, and it charges instantly. br>However, there are some drawbacks: In comparison to the smart folio, I found that this keyboard is less enjoyable to use in my lap. The weight distribution is such that it wants to lean backwards when it isn't on a stable foundation, and the number of moving parts makes it feel shaky/less stable to type on. On the other hand, it looks great on a desk. br>Also, when I first started using it, I had a problem with my fingers accidentally hitting the bottom of the iPad while typing (especially when reaching for the number row keys); I've grown accustomed to it, but it may irritate some people.

This is the closest the iPad Pro has ever come to competing with a laptop
5/5

I work as a writer and a teacher. I enjoy having the freedom to take my work with me wherever I go. In my current mood, I'm sitting outside in the evening, undistracted, and surrounded by chirps and frogs to help me write. To use my iPad Pro 12, I've had to either bring my MacBook Pro or set up some funky lighting so I can see the keys on my previous magic keyboard (which isn't backlit). br>This appeared to be a viable option, so I placed an order for it. Everything plugged in and worked as it should after a phone call with an Apple support representative who discovered I needed to update my iOS version. br>Now I have a backlit keyboard—but that's only the beginning; I'm blown away by the key response, the quietness, and the scroll pad, which I never thought I needed. Multitouch gestures on the trackpad were used to ice the cake. This is a serious tool, as well as a fantastic present for myself during this Shelter-related situation. As a result of the pandemic, the following events have taken place. Buy one. It's the best accessory I've ever had (at least so far, heehee).

Hands down, the best case, function, and a variety of positions!   This is by far the best keyboard case because it can be used in so many different ways!

The product is overpriced and lacking in important features
3/5

Mine arrived damaged, and Apple's customer service representatives on the phone were unhelpful. They didn't know what this product was or how it worked. They advised me to send it back to be repaired- Do they think they're crazy? So I'll have to wait about two weeks for a replacement for a product that arrived broken. Right. I gave it back to you. My $20. The Anker Bluetooth keyboard costs $99, while the Apple keyboard costs $129. For a fraction of the price, the 00 Trackpad 2 works just as well, and I found a great cover on Amazon for under $20. Make a savings and repeat the process. In addition, I received $20. The Apple keyboard costs $349 and comes with the top row of function keys for brightness, volume, music, and escape. There are no function keys on the number 00. Product that is way too expensive.

This is an excellent purchase
5/5

AMAZING. It's going to change the game. It never failed to impress me. I was going to get the regular Smart Keyboard because I already had a smart keyboard and thought it was sufficient, but I decided to take a chance and upgrade to this because it has so many new features and it is so sleek and fun and just amazing that it truly transforms your iPad into a laptop. . . When you close it, it makes this cute protective, slick looking case. It simply appears to be extremely well-made. GET THIS IF YOU OWN A NEW 2020 IPHONE. And if you Google how to use the magic keyboard with the iPad Pro 2020, you'll find some hidden features I wasn't aware of.

It's quite pricey, but it's ideal for both personal and professional use
4/5

This product is extremely expensive, and I've only had it for a few hours, but it's been fantastic. I was expecting it to be less than $250, not more than $300. However, the angle on the iPad should be able to go back further, and while I wouldn't recommend it for the price, I would recommend it for the features.

Excellent construction (extremely stable in hover)
5/5

The trackpad and keys provide smooth feedback. This keyboard with trackpad is perfect in every way: the design, the stability, and the fact that it hovers. (Finally! ), the keyboard has a backlight. The key feedback is flawless, and the type is extremely smooth. The trackpad responds perfectly to taps and clicks to select items, and its operation is flawless from a hardware standpoint, though Apple's iPad OS still needs some work before it can be used without touching the screen at all. It's the perfect weight: it's sturdy without being too heavy. It would be too flimsy if it were any lighter. It will fit comfortably in your lap or on the armrest of your couch or chair. The ability to adjust the display's angle is convenient, and it provides more viewing options than one might expect. Because you can charge the iPad through the case, you can use the iPad's USB port. For those complaining about the price, the RELIABLE accessories available for musicians to get an extra port so they can plug in their instrument and charge their iPad at the same time are over $100 on their own, so with the track and sturdier build, it's not a bad price). The iPad does not hover over any keys, as some had predicted, making typing difficult. My only gripe is that the Escape key has yet to be added.
