Occasionally you would be able to remove the card and re-insert it if you removed it and reinserted it enough. Thus, I researched the firmware update on the manufacturer's website and downloaded it. Even after the firmware of the card reader was updated, it continued to show up as four drive letters in 'My Computer' as it did before, but the card itself did not show up no matter how many times you reinserted it.
