It's a cheap Chinese adapter, but it does the job. On my spare 512GB Macbok SSD, it worked flawlessly. I'm getting around 300 MB/s write, but that depends on the drive you're using, not this adapter. br>br>I couldn't fit it into anything because it was far too long. I ended up installing the drive in the second HDD bay of my MacMini Server (which has a quad-core processor but no optical drive). It had gone on far too long. I snapped it off because the screw side had no circuitry. I also had to snap off about 1/4" of the SSD (no circuitry was damaged; only the board and mounting nut were damaged). ) To keep it in place, I used an electrical tap. yup, lol. But it works, and it's in my MacMini server, where it's paired with a 512GB SATA SSD and performing admirably. br>br>It's also recognized by OS X as an Apple SSD.
I was able to connect the SSD from my dead MacBook Pro to the SATA adapter, then to my new computer, and recover all of my data using this adapter.
It does what it says on the tin, but it took a long time to arrive.
Worked with my Apple drive, which is now connected to a Windows 10 PC as a SATA device.
It's a working Macbook with an unusual SSD. I was able to connect it to a standard SSD fitting using this adapter, which fit it perfectly. br>Price was accurate. It would have been impossible if it hadn't been for the fact that br>It was also on time.
