As long as you use the same patch cable as now, you are fine. Unlike your current cable, this patch cable comes with the ends already attached. It's called a "Patch" cable because of the way it is constructed. In a patch cable, you have two male plugs attached to the cable when you buy a network cable. As a rule, bulk lengths of cables do not qualify as patch cables because the male terminations are not You can use that cable to make patch cables of your own length, create your own network jacks, or wire your home network with them. With that being said, I would recommend spending around the same amount on the new cat7 cable since it is about the same price. The speeds are still the same (10gb) as cat6, however, the mhz rating is much higher. If you want to be able to move more freely, I'd recommend getting them on flat cables.
