Selected User Reviews For Genovation Micropad 630 USB & PS/2 Numeric Keypad, Grey
I have the Book Systems 630 USB Numeric Keyboard. As a game player, I use my Lumia to play games on my Lap Top, but I also use it for data entry. My only complaint is the cord that connects the USB port to the keys. The keys are easy to program and work fine, but I don't like how they connect.
The comments in some other reviews are confusing (or incorrect! I'll try to clear things up. It's important for me to have a high quality keypad since I do a lot of number crunching. Besides that, I have switched to a laptop instead of a desktop computer I'll tell you what that means now After purchasing the Genovation 630, I spoke with someone from Genovation and they informed me that both the 630 and 631 were Numlock compliant. There is proof. The good thing is that both are USB devices, which don't require any drivers to operate. There are no problems with numeric synchronization, yay. When I type on the laptop, I type letters, and when I type on the ten-key, I type numbers An essential. Both the 630 and 631 are heavy duty versions. The 630 is bigger while the 631 is smaller. According to each's (his) own needs. Buy this one instead of all the cheapo crappy ones if you need a keypad. The one I have here is perfect. As a PS, It's unclear to me what "E-" means In the "Book Systems" category, you will find the following. The keypad is made by Genovation.
It is a pleasure to work with them again. The numeric keypad for Windows Vista was needed. Previously, I had used a Genovation serial numeric keypad with Windows ME and Windows XP. Many years had passed since it was so great. I called Genovation when it would not run in Vista, and they recommended the Genovation 630, and no driver was necessary, it was just like a regular keyboard. It is a superb product, and I recommend it highly. Because Amazon's list of local retailers in my area did not respond, I went to Amazon. In only a couple of days, I had the keypad in my hand.
It works just as well as it did when I bought it. I've had this 10key for at least five years and it still works. The keypad is used a lot by me, since I am a CPA. So far, it hasn't had any issues despite taking a lot of abuse. After buying this item three times, I am on my third laptop. However, the 10key keeps working despite the death of the laptops. In the past, I have tried other brands and cheaper products, but they were quickly worn down. The heavy duty keypad in this collection is ideal for people who need high quality, heavy duty numeric keypads. There is a good chance I'll buy another one soon. It is possible that one day this one will die.
If this program is loaded, your computer will crash when you try to run MS-Office programs. An application for the DOS operating system. Once the machine has been rebooted, you will need to restart the system. Unfortunately, I didn't discover this defect until after my 30 days had expired. Kensington and Targus provide keypads that do not require a separate software program to eliminate the numlock on the keypad. Both of these keypads can be used with both MS-DOS and Windows Vista. Application programs that run on Windows and cost less than those running on DOS.
