It seems like the rubber gasket/keychain holder on the Micro USB end is built into the adapter, so you can't remove it unless you cut it off or pull really hard. complaint I have is with the keychain clip. This clip does not open up wide enough to allow you to attach it to any USB cable that I found. Their cuteness actually really impresses me! This is a fantastic product, I was impressed at how compact and small it is. Most electronics adapters are bulky and inconvenient. This one is awesome! My primary use for these is with Anker brand mini USB connectors because they are small, slim and slide all the way down over the micro usb so that the adapter is flush with the host.

The quality of these is really impressive. In case I needed them in an emergency, I bought them as a cheap set of more or less throw-away adapter tips. All 4 are very fast charging, given that I used a USB C cable to charge my Galaxy S8 and all four charged at the same speed. My only qualm is that the clips are too small to fit around many cables, but given the price I'm fine.

I purchased the cray version that comes with a short chain and two spring loaded clasps on each end that I had hoped to use to attach the adapter to a USB cable so the cable could also be used for micro-USB phones without worrying about it being lost. I am unable to fit my standard usb cables over the claps because they don't open wide enough. In order to hook the clasp to the usb cable, I had to tie a zip tie to the cable.
