I had a ten-year-old 24-inch monitor in my office and wanted to use it to connect a new Roku that I had purchased on sale. I tried an HDMI to DVI cable at first, and while I did get a display, I kept getting a message about HDCP, which prevented any videos from being displayed. br>br>Because the monitor lacked speakers, I purchased a splitter that splits the HDMI and audio signals, allowing me to use computer speakers for audio. Although I was no longer receiving the HDCP error, the screen had a purple tint to it. After that, I purchased this adapter and connected it to my computer via a VGA cable. Then it all came together! Although the color is slightly off, the display is much sharper than I had anticipated. Yes, buying a cheap TV would have been less expensive and easier, but I was determined to make this work.

Any of these adapters, I figured, would make a small amount of noise on the screen. I did the comparison on a monitor with both hdmi and vga inputs. I couldn't tell the difference in picture quality between using this vga converter and connecting the monitor directly to the hdmi port. This is fantastic! I used a 24-inch Viewsonic monitor and two Lenovo laptops. Windows 10 laptops from Acer. br>br>This adapter can mirror/duplicate as well as extend the display. When both laptops were first connected, the default setting was for the main display to be duplicated. To display different windows on the two screens, right-click on the desktop and change the display settings to Extend display. br>br>Resolution is a term that refers to the amount of information that can be stored in a single file. enables you to choose from a number of different resolutions. When mirroring the older acer, a lower resolution was used because it matched the resolution of the acer. When you switch to Extended, however, the resolution is automatically changed to 1980x1080.

It didn't work at first. I had to go through the properties of my old Acer AL1716 and adjust the output to match the new one. It turned out to be even better than I had hoped for. I had purchased an adapter that looked similar to this one and discovered that it was the polar opposite; however, this one worked perfectly and I'm pleased with it. I'll definitely buy another one if I need one, and I'd advise others to do the same if they need one. Thank you very much.

VGA cable, which was also made in China, was a total dud! Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the UPGROW, which was only a few dollars more expensive, was also a Chinese product. I used a VGA cable and a new HDMI cable to connect it. All was well with the computer ports. br>Of course, this isn't the only advantage. It arrived much more quickly, in better packaging, and with clear instructions for adapting to different computers. The resolution is 1080p! I'm a contented audience member!.

Consider switching to a different firm. It worked at first, but after a few months, it has stopped working. The laptop recognizes that there is a device plugged in, but my monitor won't turn on/stays in sleep mode, indicating that the adapter is of poor quality. To make sure it was the adapter, I disconnected it and connected my monitor directly to my work laptop docking station. The monitor starts up right away. The adapter failed, and there is no phone number or help option for the company in the Amazon order summary.
