So far, I've had five of these. Various sellers have different "brands," but I've only been able to get one of them to work for a short time. I've been a computer technician for 25 years and am a network / IT administrator. I have multiple monitors, multiple video sources, and multiple cables. I'm well-versed in my field. It wasn't the fault of the seller; it was simply a poor product.

We went out and bought. It does exactly what it says on the tin. This was bought to connect a laptop to another monitor. It uses the laptop's HDMI out port to connect to an older monitor that has a (blue) VGA port. br>br>Keep in mind - HDMI is a digital signal, whereas VGA is an analog signal. It is possible to connect digital out to analog, but not the other way around. That would necessitate the use of a converter.

Then it finally gave way! The connections will not be read by it. br>br>Very dissatisfied. br>br> I'm unable to return it because it broke outside of my return window one day. Be careful who you buy from.

As part of a three-part setup, I purchased this adapter to connect an old VGA monitor to a new nVidia graphics card. set up a monitor There are three different outputs on the video card: DP, HDMI, and DVI. It can use all three at the same time if that is what you want. This adapter was clearly for the HDMI port, so I purchased a different brand for the DP port to compare quality. Although this isn't a particularly exciting experiment, I'm pleased to report that both of them work as expected. Through the passive analog adapter, Windows 10 correctly identified the old monitor and was able to send it whatever resolution I requested. To be honest, I was taken aback by how nice it turned out and how simple it was to put together. I don't see why this adapter should be more expensive. It gets the job done. I'd never heard of Moread before, but the reviews sounded promising, so I decided to give it a try. I've never been let down. br>br>Because the cable between the two ends is flexible, I can place the computer box closer to a wall than if it were solid. a set of pieces I wasn't looking for a four-star hotel. So I bought this because I had a one-inch plastic lever protruding from the back of my computer. So far, everything seems to be going swimmingly. Across this adapter, everything works as it should.

My computer recognized the projector and displayed the model number, but there was no output signal to the projector, so it didn't show up. After exhausting all other options, I contacted Morehead's customer service department. They inquired, so I sent them screen shots of the display information, projector information, and HDMI video settings, claiming that everything was fine, but nothing worked. As a result, they sent me a replacement adaptor to make sure it wasn't the adaptor. While they were shipping the second adaptor, I went to MS Windows and looked up everything I could about the HDMI video card and its settings. The second adaptor was inserted, and the same thing happened. The HDMI wasn't sending an output signal to the projector, despite the fact that the computer recognized the projector type and model. I used someone else's computer to test the Morehead adaptor, and it worked flawlessly. Now I just need to fix the HDMI video card. I can't say enough good things about Morehead's customer service team, who went above and beyond to assist me in resolving my issue.

This is a claim made in the product description that this use will work. br>br>However, when I received the product, it was not working; the image on the monitor appeared to be split into four odd sections that were arranged on the screen in a random order. Because the screen's bottom left corner is on the top right. We tested the monitor, cable, and HDMI port coming out of the computer, and they all worked fine, so I believe the adapter is broken and not working correctly. br>br> It could have been a faulty item or simply bad luck. br>br> I could have easily returned it as well. However, for the price of the item, it did not seem worthwhile to go through the trouble. br>br>If you're short on cash and willing to deal with the hassle of returning a potentially defective item, I'd say go for it.

I have a couple of chromebooks that they use, and this is ideal for connecting them to the monitor so that they can work more efficiently at home. If you need audio to come through the machine, you must tell it not to send it through the HDMI, as previously stated, but that is the only change you must make. It's exactly what anyone with a chromebook who wants to connect it to a VGA monitor needs.
