Yes, I used it to connect an older monitor that only had VGA input to a newer computer that only had HDMI video output.
No idea. None of these seemed to work for me.
It certainly ought to. I received a damaged package. I would recommend ordering from a different company than BenfeiDirect because I do not recommend BenfeiDirect.
In a nutshell, the answer is no. This device has a male hdmi interface.

I do a lot of work in Excel, and being able to expand to multiple screens while working from home is extremely useful. This allowed me to do so without having to invest in a costly docking station. It was exactly what I needed.
This adapter had been on my mind. Because my computer lacks a VGA port, I was able to avoid buying a new monitor thanks to this program. It connects to the monitor's VGA port, and I can use a second screen by connecting it to my laptop via HDMI. It really works.
I needed this item to connect my Xbox to my old computer monitor, and it worked perfectly. My son was overjoyed by this. The item did exactly what it was supposed to do. To match the monitor's limitations, I had to reduce the Xbox's video output.
I'm splitting the HDMI from the cable box and sending one of the outputs to one of my computer monitors at my desk via the Benfei HDMI to VGA Adapter. This allows me to work while watching the news or listening to music from my cable box. On the Dell 24" monitor, the image quality is excellent, and the HD looks fantastic. The cable box's audio is fed directly to the computer's audio system, which includes a Logitech speaker system with subwoofer, via RCA outputs. There is no lag, and the audio and video are in perfect sync. Finally, for a low price, I have a great 24" HD TV and good audio at my computer desk. It was money well spent.

This was exactly what I needed for an old monitor, and it's fantastic! The plastic housing is a little flimsy, but that's not a big deal because you'll hide it behind your computer and never see it again.
I work- I work from home and recently purchased a new laptop and docking station, so this was an essential component that was recommended by a coworker.
My second Dell monitor needed to be connected to my Dell Inspiron desktop computer. I did some research and placed an order for the correct cable. It was exactly what I ordered and worked exactly as I had hoped when it arrived on my front porch a day or two later. I don't know what else I could want. Oh, it was 60% less expensive than the original part from the OEM. It's the cherry on top.
