Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
Any graphics card with an HDMI output will work. No incompatibility issues, because if a regular LCD monitor works with a specific output then these dummy plugs will work with 100% confidence because they act exactly like a real LCD monit
Works with Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, and just about anything else, and has an ultra-compact, low-profile design.
Allows for high-resolution, GPU-accelerated remote desktop with no drivers, configuration, or power cable - just set and forget.
It works as a dummy plug for GPU tasks like crypto currency mining.
On the Oculus Rift, it works beautifully with the Virtual Desktop.

Questions & Answers

Why does the dongle say 4k uhd but the description says 1080p? What resolution is it really pretending to be?

It is dependent on the configuration of your software.

Can I connect one of my attached video cards to my motherboard's hdmi port despite the fact that my motherboard lacks an hdmi video port?

Yes, but only to the primary video card on your motherboard, which is the one closest to your CPU. You'll also need a display port adapter if you want to use the hdmi dummy plug with a monitor connected.

What is this thing, and can you tell me more about it? I've never seen anything like it before, and it confuses the hell out of me. ?

These are HDMI EDID emulators that can be plugged into your HDMI ports to emulate or simulate the presence of a display. They don't have any output and are mostly used for stress testing.

Is it possible to use an adapter with my Headless module?

This is so that your headless computer thinks it has a display and you don't lose your desktop if it restarts without one connected.

On headless machines, it's ideal for keeping a display active
5/5

I'm using Ubuntu 18. 04 on a headless machine. 04 I require remote access to my desktop. The issue is that the remote display is at a very low resolution when I disconnect my monitor and reboot. I had previously used a method of creating a dummy display to which I forced resolution, but if I ever had a problem and needed to plug in a monitor, the real display was simply blank. This is where this fantastic dummy plug/display emulator comes in. Now I just leave one of these small dongles plugged in, and everything works as if I had an active monitor connected, and if I have a problem and need to, I can simply swap this dongle for a real hdmi monitor connection, and my display remains intact. In this 3-part series, I used the remaining two. Install some headless machines that fall back to VGA if HDMI isn't connected at startup.

Uses a VNC server and CRU software to get a resolution of 2560x1080 (or higher) on an ultrawide monitor! This is an excellent product that allowed me to connect my headless computers to my Windows VNC software with a display (rather than a black screen)
5/5

br>- However, due to the resolution of my ultrawide monitor (2560x1080), I was never able to'maximize' the VNC server. In Windows, there was no option for 2560x1080p.
- However, I discovered that you can use a program called CRU to add 2560x1080 as a profile, reboot, and then 2560x1080p displays a selection for us to set.
- Because this device can handle that resolution, it worked perfectly! I can maximize my VNC server to full screen while keeping the taskbar and other icons visible.

It can be used to create virtual reality desktops
5/5

So, on my VR headset, I use Immersed VR, which allows me to stream my PC desktop to a VR headset. Immersed allows me to use two screens, but I only have one physical screen, so I plug one of these into my PC and now I have two virtual reality screens. Even if you only have a 1080p dummy plug, you can change the resolution to 4k or any other resolution and it will appear in VR at that resolution. So, if 1080p dummy plugs are less expensive, go ahead and buy them.

For a headless Steam server, this method works well
5/5

Finally, I moved my Win10 gaming PC to the server closet, where it belongs, and I'm enjoying Steam games on my laptop. One of these was required in order for it to function properly. br>br>Cheap, quick shipping, and it does exactly what it says it will. I couldn't be more pleased.

These monitor spoofers are quite nice
5/5

These simulate the connection of a monitor to your computer's graphics card. This is critical for a number of applications. In order to control the Folding@Home distributed computing app, I use remote Linux boxes that I log into using TeamViewer from my phone. The graphics sent to my phone are low-quality unless one of these is plugged into the remote computer. resolution as well as horror This dummy plug makes my remote sessions a lot more productive by forcing the computer to display something worth looking at.

It is true to its word
5/5

I don't know what else to say. I bought it for a normally headless server, but when I RDP into it, I was presented with an 800x600 screen that I couldn't resize. However, I now have a full 1080p display. It's fantastic!.

Spoofing a monitor for an NDI feed is a good idea
5/5

This is being used to imitate a snood monitor so that I can send the image into Vmix via NDI. easy fix.

Works like a charm
5/5

I was unable to see some application windows in TeamViewer or other remote PC control applications. I learned from a tech support representative that if the monitor is turned off and the GPU is not connected to any display, the GPU will turn off. As a result, video-accelerated applications' windows would not appear on the screen. Even when my primary monitor is turned off, I can always have a display connected with this. I can now connect to my PC via remote control without any problems.
