Selected User Reviews For Ubiquiti NanoStation 5AC Loco, 5 GHz airMAX ac CPE with Dedicated Wi-Fi Management (Loco5AC-US)

A technician certified by Ubiquiti reviews the documentation
5/5

As a certified Ubiquiti technician, I help Ubiquiti implement its products. I am a glorified I in that sense. Having used Ubiquiti products for 10 years, I can attest how well their products work As each year goes by, they get better and better. No exception applies to this bridge set up. It is important that you understand this before you purchase the product. In this case, it is NOT a access point for wireless networks. 2- There isn't an easy way to set this up*3- They need to be in pairs in order to operate. Nothing will be done for you by 1. As simple wires connecting two points, these units are to be viewed as. Through wireless links, they transmit data wirelessly. The only way to get Internet access with them is to purchase an access point and attach it to the modem

Usually, I use them for my clients when we need internet 100 feet They can actually go farther than I thought they would. Previously, I had used them up to a mile. As they are 192. 168. 0. 1, they come with a default IP address. Any web browser can be used to access the GUI (Graphical User Interface). In the default IP configuration, the user name is You have been given a default password You can find many videos that demonstrate how to set them up on YouTube. I like this little device a lot. In my opinion, Andrew Byrd Networks is the best source to go to for your computer needs.

The access point is not usable as a standard one
3/5

In order to use it as an access point, I bought this to upgrade my Ubiquiti Nano Station Loco. Connecting to others with Airmax is the only way to use this model. As an access point, it won't work like a standard one. I have copied the following from the Ubiquity website UBNT- As I mentioned two years ago, the airMAX AC products are not standard Wi-Fi products, and I apologize for any confusion that might have been caused by the name Products that are not advertised as such are not products that are made with Wi-Fi. For standard Wi-Fi, this is the best option I recommend you return the item to the distributor, since these products cannot be used with replacement firmware.

Another post Fi and UX- I wrote this to James two years ago *******@motoxnate To clarify the following is what you need to know Is it true that the old NanoStation M5 could function both as an access point in conjunction with the beam link, but not as a beam link with the new NanoStation AC? Is this not something that you will be able to incorporate into the new version? [Very correct. airMAX M devices can act as APs for Wifi clients, but the AC device does not support Wifi connections due to changes in airMAX AC (both software and hardware). Standards-based support does not appear to be in the works With airMAX AC as the wireless base.

Since installation, there has been a constant stream of issues
3/5

Whenever this device is in use, I end up with 100s of random MAC addresses in my client list. I have been fighting with Unifi for over 2 months, but no resolution has been found. It's like they don't care about.

This type of wireless link is perfect for tying multiple buildings together
5/5

The view expressed by JB is my own. plan on using these to build a wireless line of sight link that is up to a couple of miles long, then these will be worth the price. A steady 600MB up and down is what I get. We have no complaints to make. Rather than being access points, use them as a link. This is a wireless link that I will buy again in the future.

I am unable to use this product
3/5

Although I received this, it doesn't seem to work. It states the item is "New" but it has been used. The box was not in its original packaging, and the tie strap normally found inside the box was missing.
