For some reason, my antennas did not work right out of the box as most customers did. This installation taught me a few things about networking, even though I am not at all knowledgeable about it. of the biggest things to avoid is The receiving antenna should not be connected to a router when you are first powering up the antennas. In my case, I configured the router at the receiving end as a wireless access point so I could get wireless on the receiving end. It's probably the reason I was screwed A router on that side of the house gave the antenna on that side an IP address, which caused the two antennas to lose contact. It was only after I downloaded Tycons' "discovery tool" program that I learned how to reset the antennas back to factory specs by clicking on the "internet browser" button in that window, instead of clicking just on the "restore/reset" button I also connected a cat5e cable between the smart TVs at the receiving location and the wireless router that I set up there as an access point for wireless networking.
