With no installation required, I simply plugged it into my 2019 MacBook pro and connected its charger, hooked up two HDMI monitors and one VGA monitors, and boom, I was ready to go. It is not possible for me to test the 4k capabilities with my 1280 x 1080 monitors. Can't believe I can do the same job that I used to with a video card that connected a desktop to 3 monitors with a small, inexpensive adapter.

I bought this USB hub in order to upgrade my home work station, so that I could add 2 monitors and a wireless keyboard and mouse. I can connect my laptop to three screens via the HDMI ports and the extension works perfectly. The machine has plenty of USB ports so I can connect my wireless keyboard, headset, phone charger, etc. The laptop and any other devices I plug into the hub charged as expected after I plugged my laptop power cord directly into it. Furthermore, the ethernet port enables me to establish a connection with high level of reliability. This is a great product!.

Initially, I was considering a Dell system similar to what I have at my office, but this was about 1/3 the price of the Dell box my employer purchased for me. So far, it is working just as well as the Dell unit we have at work. The only complaint I have is that it is advertised as charging your laptop when connected to power, but no power cable was C cable, so it was only a matter of ordering one, which I would have ordered with this if I had been aware of its availability. As a side note, I would prefer not to have to wire up a USB port (or several options) when connecting the device to the computer You can connect the cable to your computer. I don't have support for USB on my Macbook and iPad since they are older computers I had to order some adapters to connect those to the c. I wasn't overly concerned with those issues, since I was mostly interested in connecting my PC laptop from work, and what this device does is precisely.

I tested using my mobile instead of a laptop, and the HDMI ports were not functional, powered or unpowered. * Advertised as 100 W input, but I managed to draw no more than 400 MAh from the male USB port. The Micro-C connector, in order to charge from it, is inefficient for a battery with 5000mAh capacity.

Due to a delay in my first order, I cancelled the original order and reordered after waiting for two days (the order should have arrived the following day). I'm pleased that this docking station arrived on time and it works the way it should. I like the fact that the laptop can be charged via the dock. Using one of those infrared thermometers, I measured 101 F for the temperature on the unit. As the only negative side effect, the unit does get really hot. A modified version of this article was posted on Then I reconnect all the cables after unplugging everything. I then let it sit for about five minutes. When it's working again, it stops. The item would be returned to the vendor if I were able to do so. The following has been updated as of My computer then has to be powered off and I must disconnect/reconnect the cables in order to make everything work Two or three times a week, this happens.
