This is an essential piece of equipment for home offices
5/5

By using this unit, I can dock my ThinkPad T490 with a setup that has two large-screen monitors My home office was equipped with screen monitors to handle the legal work I had during this "shelter at home" period. There is no detailed documentation for how it's meant to work, and that is what I am complaining about. It is only through trials and experiments that we will know for sure. An assembly with various connectors on the left side is slid into the sockets on the left side of the laptop computer, so that the laptop computer snaps into the receiving indentations on the dock. As long as the laptop is engaged, it's pretty well held in place. As soon as this is done, the back of the docking station's connections become active. This includes 5 USB A connectors, two DisplayPort (not HDMI) monitor connections, an RJ-45 network port and a 5-pin power connector. A 45 Ethernet connection, a 1/8" audio connection, and a power socket for the power supply are included. I have been using this software for about a month now and I have yet to run into any issues. Due to the solid state drive in my ThinkPad and the fact that it runs cool, I often leave it on all the time, with the display set to go dark after 30 minutes. especially like the fact that it supports two monitors at once. For my kind of work, I don't play video games or edit movies, so I'm not sure if there are any speed issues with the monitors, but for my kind of work everything works very Apart from having two monitors, I also like the fact that the keyboard on the laptop actually feels like a real keyboard. So, in addition to having two monitors, I have a "real" keyboard and mouse to use. This laptop is truly People who work with documents on a computer for a living will find this a real productivity boost.

It's still too early for the jury to decide
3/5

My laptop docked into this docking station after evaluating the other options, and I chose the Pro version because the regular one had such mixed reviews with what it meant for (Seller was great. ) Package was brand new and contained in a sealed box when it arrived from seller. Everything worked fine until I disengaged the laptop to travel. I did this after installing the docking station and engaging the laptop. The station was not able to recognize my laptop fully when I returned, the same issue as was reported for There were no problems with any of the USB attachments connected to the dock, but the laptop would not charge and the monitor would not The problem has been investigated thoroughly and I have not been able to resolve it. I am returning for an exchange in hopes of getting a better version the second time around.

It was updated My Lenovo Carbon X1 Gen 8 was an ideal accessory to add more connectivity, and with its demise, it's nothing more than A new update Not at all The connectivity issue arose with this docking station for reasons unknown
3/5

No one seems to be able to explain or resolve it. Using 5Ghz without docking, I'm able to get 300Mbps WiFi speeds. If I connect it to the dock and it recognizes the 5GHz signal, then I get 8Mbps. My firmware was updated, I updated everything I could, but it didn't work. My expensive and unattractive paperweight is now in the garbage. **** - This is the original review I was able to set this up easily with the Lenovo Carbon X1 Gen8 and it works great. It includes many new USB options and features the ability to connect directly to displays via DisplayPort. There is no HDMI output on the docking station A Lenovo L28u was purchased by me The display I used was a 30 inch 28 inch UHD monitor with DisplayPort inputs to make this easy, even though I initially used a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter that worked just fine. The following note has been added I bought a Lenovo L28u-H whose resolution is 4K UHD, so make sure you get a matching 4K display (my old displays didn't do the laptop justice, so I bought the L28u-H) A 30 inch 28 inch UHD monitor is available
Changes will be made to the following ports A USB flash drive is provided (
1) The USB 3 x USB 5 ports can be run at 5 Gbps and 5V 3A*. There are two generations of Gen 1 (5 Gbps and one always-on) The charging box must be connected to a USB port. The DisplayPort can be used for two displays. The following is a summary 4*1x One Gigabit Ethernet port one Kensington security lock slot (remember them?) one Stereo/Mic combo port
One 5 mm stereo jack
One 5 mm headphone jack . Several of my locks are even in my possession!.

Lenovo customer support is great
4/5

First one was bad, but after that it was great. I have updated It originally got one star from me. After struggling with the original unit for almost a year, I finally called Lenovo support expecting to be given In just a few minutes, Lenovo sent me a replacement product OVERNIGHT after a phone call in which I did not take the time to try things I had already tried. I tested it, and it worked It's so wonderful to be I found the moral of the story to be very valuable. In the event you get one which has issues, you don't hesitate to contact Lenovo support. I just wished I would have That's a waste of time. Currently, I am working from home in the field of information technology. There are no external USB ports on the docking station, which means that I'm working with a mouse and an external keyboard that cut in and out intermittently. Nothing useful can be gained from it. You can find a lot of info about this on Google, it's apparently a known problem with Lenovo laptops and As for the T480, it has only one USB port, and that's too bad. The docking station and my old T440 are both beautiful. I want my old T440 While it was slow, it at least.

I can't think of anything more useful to have on the desk than a Despite its cost and usefulness, this software is extremely expensive
5/5

The main reason I bought it was to ease moving my laptop around, so I weighed the convenience against the price. I use my Apple X1 Carbon 7th generation on this station and it makes my daily rituals of carrying my The device comes out of the bag, I set it on the dock, and I move the slider so it starts charging, and it soon connects to my printer, scanner, and LAN, I back up my hard drive, and I can see my dual monitor display on both screens. That's really how simple it is. I fold it away with the laptop in my hands and slide it to the left when the days are over. We were glad we went through A bit pricey. A permanent fixture with factory support, simplicity, and modularity. It is pricey, but it is a permanent fixture with factory support. The dock fits in well with my daily life because I use my computer every day and instead of plugging the computer into my devices, I just plug the dock into the dock. Nonexistent setup. It's a good option for anyone on the fence, so I would suggest you I have decreased my setup time from three minutes to two seconds with this well thought out product. You couldn't make it up, it's so.
