By using this unit, I can dock my ThinkPad T490 with a setup that has two large-screen monitors My home office was equipped with screen monitors to handle the legal work I had during this "shelter at home" period. There is no detailed documentation for how it's meant to work, and that is what I am complaining about. It is only through trials and experiments that we will know for sure. An assembly with various connectors on the left side is slid into the sockets on the left side of the laptop computer, so that the laptop computer snaps into the receiving indentations on the dock. As long as the laptop is engaged, it's pretty well held in place. As soon as this is done, the back of the docking station's connections become active. This includes 5 USB A connectors, two DisplayPort (not HDMI) monitor connections, an RJ-45 network port and a 5-pin power connector. A 45 Ethernet connection, a 1/8" audio connection, and a power socket for the power supply are included. I have been using this software for about a month now and I have yet to run into any issues.
