Is it possible to charge the laptop while doing so? what is the usb- Is power supplied by the c connection?

These docks will usually charge your laptop, but you must connect the USB cable. Connect the USB-C cable to the USB-A port. The C port is located at the back of the dock, rather than in the front.

Is it possible to use this with a Dell laptop?

If it comes with a USB port, that's a plus. Drivers for the C port can be found on the Lenovo website.

Is it possible to use this with the Lenovo P15s?

Before making a purchase, do some research. The product itself was satisfactory, but the packaging was of a low quality. For a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon, Gen 7, this is a good docking station
5/5

I had grown accustomed to using two external monitors with another laptop that I had been using for several years. The commuting capabilities of today's laptops allow me to use them for all of my needs, whether at work, on the road, or in class. The small single laptop screen, on the other hand, is no longer as easy to view with my eyes as it was ten years ago. I purchased a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon, Gen 7 based on the previous Thinkpad's excellent performance. This docking station performs admirably, but it uses the super/lightning/all-in-one USB C connection, as do most new laptops. I prefer the older style connector, but it appears that this is the direction in which PC manufacturers are headed. With my two existing monitors, the setup was relatively simple and almost plug-and-play. It took a few minutes for me to get the monitor displays set up the way I wanted them, but that's probably true of any docking station. I looked at some of the less expensive knockoff docking stations, but their reviews weren't promising. Some people also fail to charge their laptops, rendering them nearly useless. This Lenovo-branded dock was not cheap, and I'm guessing I paid a premium for the brand name. So far, it's charging my laptop and switching seamlessly to the external monitors when I plug it in.

The system isn't meeting expectations
3/5

The boot has failed. I'm writing this with a brand new Lenovo T590 that I've only had out of the box for a few hours. I'm having significant problems:
1. The laptop will not boot when connected to this docking station via a DP based KVM and input switch. Just to get the laptop to boot up, I have to turn it off. However, once booted, I am able to use the docking station, which it correctly recognizes. br>br>2. Even though I only have one 4k DP monitor connected, I only get 30Hz. Because this is a KVM, I can switch to other computers and have them all run at 60 Hz on the same monitor. I also purchased a Thunderbolt to DP cable, which works perfectly with the other identical monitor at 4k @ 60 Hz. br>br>I was hoping for a true simple hookup docking solution, but so far it's proving to be a bust; as this is only day 1, I'll have to tinker with it some more to see if there are better solutions.

Flawless
5/5

It just works, I'm using it with a Thinkpad X390, and it's a breeze to set up. The laptop is kept in a drawer with the lid closed, and there is only one USB port. The C cable from the dock to the laptop charges the laptop and powers TWO HP 24" monitors with 1920x1080 resolution plugged into the DisplayPort connectors, as well as a Logitech USB receiver for keyboard and mouse, which works flawlessly. C stands in front of it, perfectly charging it. I like that the headphone, USB, and USB-C are all included. The docking station has C connectors on the front. You may need to press the power button on the dock's top every now and then, but the laptop is usually awakened by the keyboard and mouse.

With one monitor, everything was fine, but with two, it wasn't
3/5

The Lenovo T490s is incapable of driving two 60Hz monitors. After reading several support foams, it appears that the laptop is unable to support two 60hz monitors via the USM-II. The connection is in the letter C. If you use a docking station that connects via Thunderbolt, the T490s may be able to support two monitors both running at 60Hz. br>I like that I can close the laptop and turn it on using the dock's power button. I believe I've been assigned to work for Apple
3/5

Because I have both a personal and a work Lenovo, I was able to obtain this. I have a lot of monitors and wireless devices, so I wanted to be able to switch from one to the other by simply swapping out one cord. Well, the device didn't work in one of the laptops, so I went to Lenovo support, where I was given a lot of bad advice that didn't make sense after waiting half an hour- "For example, your laptop can only extend monitors via HDMI, not USB C. " "However, I currently use a cheap Targus to connect both monitors to my laptop via USB C. They informed me that I was in the wrong tech support department and that they would send me a new link. That person then informed me that they were not the correct ones, and instead directed me to the warranty department, where they refused to do anything until I provided my address. Finally, they admitted that they couldn't help and advised that I contact sales. I'm so annoyed that I'm going to return this unit and return my laptop to Costco.

The product was sent from outside the United States
3/5

I placed an order for a ThinkPad USB-C 40AS0090US. C dock. As I am currently residing in the United States, US stands for United States model. Despite the fact that the Amazon label displayed this model number, the Lenovo label displayed the model 40AS0090JP in two locations, with JP standing for Japan. The warranty card is only available in Japanese. Although I am not certain that there would be a problem, I am concerned that Lenovo in the United States might not honor the warranty. The product has been returned.

The Lenovo Thinkpad Docking Station is fantastic
5/5

While I believe the price could/should be lower, it is a very useful addition to my Lenovo T490. I like that I can connect all of my peripherals (external monitor, ethernet, USB drive, keyboard, and mouse) to the docking station with only one cable (USB-C). A) to the computer; B) to the computer; C) to the computer; D It's also very convenient to be able to turn on the laptop without opening the lid. So far, everything has gone smoothly.
