Questions & Answers

You need to connect a power cord as well, don't you? Do you have the USB as well?

There's no need for a power cord or a USB, Jen. Only once did the Docking Station work. I was not able to use the Docking Station the next time I had the chance to use it. As a result of my contact with Kensington Support, Kensington tried to troubleshoot the problem for 2 weeks. I tried to exchange the docking station after about a week of troubleshooting it was not working. Amazon, however, informed me that this defected docking station was beyond the deadline for return. Kensington did not return my telephone according to their statement. My account was finally "resolved" once again via email when they contacted me once again stating that since they haven't heard from me they marked the incident as such. I finally heard from them on 12/6, 12/9, 12/10, 12/17, 12/24, and 12/30. On December 31. I encountered was that the picture I had was larger than my display, and then neither display appeared on any of my monitors. Although the USB outlets worked just fine, the speakers didn't have video, but the connection to the speakers worked fine. The defective unit needed to be returned at my expense. After a month of troubleshooting, Kensington requested that I return it to them. It has been several days since I received the replacement unit, so I haven't yet had a chance to install It goes without saying that I was disappointed with Amazon's lack of customer service as well as that I had to pay for returning the defective unit to Kensington.

What are my options for connecting two DVI displays? Do you have a D monitor? There is only one video port visible on the image. Does an additional cable need to be purchased?

You can connect two cables, however, I doubt you can connect two at the same time there is only one port.

My laptop should be kept closed. Do I have to do this?

Yes, you can close the lid if you are running two monitors at the same time. If both are detected, then you would have to change screen resolution in the "Screen Resolution" menu. Additionally, you can configure the laptop to stay on even when the lid is closed in the "Power Settings" window. Thanks for your interest in ITRemarketing, Inc., *br>

Easy to install, but difficult to remove
3/5

There are some who claim that it is plug and play, but I am not sure. I did not find it to be so. The latest version of the Acer Swift 3 (2018) is available to me I have a MacBook Pro 6 running the very latest version of Windows 10 with all the latest updates. The docking station was not recognized by my laptop at first. The following happened after plugging everything into the laptop and into the wall outlet, but nothing happened. It's reboot time now. My laptop is now seeing the device. I waited for it to update any drivers it needed and rebooted it after it had done so. Although the dock is recognized by the device, the monitor does not display any data. You should be aware that the link in the quick start guide leads to a dead website. The support page has no suggestions for where to look for software drivers, so I went to see if I could find them. Updates to the software only land you at a 3rd party web video driver site. There you will need to guess which video driver you need In some cases, downloading the newest version would seem to be the best option, but in my case, the installation process informed me that the video driver that I had already was the most recent version. I am rebooting now. There is still no response. Kensington's help line was a useless waste of time. They directed me in the right direction but there was no difference in what I was experiencing. Bye bye If I were to unpack it and send it back, that would be my only option. My best efforts won't be enough to turn the tide so fast. I'll go back to the drawing board. Restoring the system to where it was before hooking it up was possible after I performed a restore point. I am re- The video software is now running, and it appears to be working. In normal use my Samsung LCD monitor displays smooth and clear images, but when connected to a docking station, the monitor becomes a bit blurry and out of focus. In the case of connecting the monitor directly to the laptop, the colors are bright and crisp. This was a huge It's true I can plug the monitor directly into the laptop, but does that defeat the purpose of Could I reduce the time spent connecting all the devices each time?

My suggestion would be to explore other options.

Both PC and Mac versions are compatible, but with Ethernet, the network speed is slow
4/5

It is only downside of this docking station that the network speed is only half of what I can get from my 5G Wi-Fi. Although I thought I was dealing with a cable issue, the network speed improved significantly after I switched to a new docking station, so I now believe it was this docking station which was causing the issue. As I had seen in previous posts that people were having positive feedback on Mac OS Mojave, I decided to buy this one for both my Windows laptop and my work Macbook Pro. Despite the fact that it did not work right away, after updating to Mac OS Mojave and installing DisplayLink software on both Mac and PC, it did! It works great on both of my monitors with 1920 x 1080 Full HD (1920 x 1080). I can just plug into the USB 3 port after setting up the Docking Station and connecting everything to it. All three of my peripheral devices are connected to my computer! I have two monitors, a keyboard, and a mouse! On my PC laptop, I occasionally saw some glitches (probably because this one is a bit lower spec than a Macbook Pro), but for the most part it worked flawlessly. Occasionally, I have had problems with a microphone not working or audio not connecting to HDMI and only through my laptop, but the problem has been fixed by restarting the computer. All appears to be well so far. This is exactly what I wanted, and I'm happy that I bought it. With two monitors, I can fully use them for work as well as for everyday use.

I really like the docking station! It's hard to explain, but honestly, if you want an actual diving station for your laptop that supports dual display setup (meaning that you won't be using your laptop screen but two large monitors) then this is perfect for you
5/5

You can't use it to watch high definition This version is designed to support hint Applications (I wouldn't buy it for a gaming laptop to play games on) but rather for business applications and software such as Photoshop, Office, Visio, Publisher, etc. I like this a lot. The device will connect to two external 24" display monitors via HDMI (using with two 24-inch screens). This device has four USB2 ports that can be used by peripherals such as keyboards, mice, drawing tablets (such as Wacom tablets), low-power charging (such as for Bluetooth headsets and other devices) -- This laptop has two USB 3 ports. External drives can be connected via the 0 ports, and the port is equipped with a gigabit Ethernet connection. The 2nd monitor comes with a dvi to HDMI adapter, while the first one has a standard HDMI port. (both are standard HDMI, NOT display ports). The only complaint is the size of the power adapter and the length of the power cable. This unit only connects using the included USB B to USB A cable, which is not very long (1m at most, I believe). A USB port is required if your laptop is connected via USB A USB A to C adapter enables you to use a data only USB in combination with an A-C cable Connection to your laptop's USB C port (great if your laptop's USB C port doesn't support Alt-Display Port) This is something that many do not do. I've had this for more than a month now, and I'm very pleased with the product. I have one note to make. The dock should be connected to your computer when you first power it up PATIENCE IS THE KEY! It takes one minute to set up an account in the beginning Before all the drivers are installed and functional, and connected displays appear, take a few minutes to do the following Putting the displays in the right order and switching to the extended display mode (starts in mirror mode) will be necessary. In turn, the time it takes to connect the dock to the Internet is less than 5 seconds.
