Questions & Answers

Is it capable of 720p video conversion?

This model can only simulate one thing at a time. Disks with a total capacity of 44 megabytes You can, however, use FlashFloppy (open source - free) to replace the stock firmware. It can be downloaded from github and can be used to emulate almost any type of 3. Media for a 5" disk

Is this compatible with my swf embroidery machine 601? c as well as 1201- ?

On my 1999 SWF A-, I was able to get it to work. T 1201. To screw the jumper to the floppy plate, I had to place it across JA and rotate it 180 degrees. When you turn it on, plug in a FAT formatted 2GB or less flash drive and hold both buttons on the converter down. The folders on the drive will begin to be created. If the machine still won't boot, wait for the drive to finish formatting the USB flash drive, then turn it on and off again to let it boot normally. I chose the 1201 format for the file folder (000) after it was booted up. My desktop could save files to it after it had been formatted. File transfers are much faster and there are many more folders than with a floppy. I was able to load designs from it, and I plan to put it through more testing in the coming months. But it appears to be working so far, and you won't have to wait two weeks. The SUE version took three months to arrive from China.

Is it possible to write to the virtual floppy images with this emulator? or does it only have the capability of reading them?

You'll be able to both create and write to them.

Is this product compatible with the Korg Triton Pro Classic 76 synthesizer?

It appears that the synthesizer makes use of a standard 36-volt power supply. pin IBM- a connector of style In theory, it should work. I'd suggest looking into the FlashFloppy firmware, as it allows for the emulation of a wider range of drives, including 720k 3. I have a 5 and even an 8" shugart that I use with my Compaq 386 and the FF firmware.

Selected User Reviews For Gotek SFR1M44-U100 3.5 Inch 1.44MB USB SSD Floppy Drive Emulator

I needed to update some expensive test equipment that still relied on a floppy drive for I/O
5/5

I decided to give the Gotek Floppy Emulator a try, and it installed just like a regular floppy drive, with the machine BIOS 'thinking' it's a floppy drive and writing to it. br>This device can divide into multiple partitions of one. Each partition is 44MB, but I only use one and it's plenty for transferring data into QuarkXpress report layouts. br>Writing speeds are comparable to a floppy, but offloading to a PC is significantly faster. br>It gives my test instrument a more modern appearance, and the color of the bezel matches the front panel color scheme nicely.

Are you a fan of old computer systems? Buy this! I've become very interested in retro computing recently
5/5

However, fiddling with tiny floppy disks in the year 2020 is a complete waste of time. It's not a pleasant experience, with bad sectors and filthy drives. br>br>This is how you do it. It allows you to convert any old USB drive into 1000 floppy disks and switch between them with the push of a button. It'll work on any old PC or other device that stores data on floppy disks (synths, for example). br>br>Notes on the device's default firmware:br>br>* The device's software is. It's both fascinating and irritating. br>* It is only compatible with Windows. br>* It will only work with DOS and DOS-compatible devices. br>br>Having said that, flashing a replacement firmware onto this device that turns it into an absolute POWERHOUSE (FlashFloppy, Google it) is a piece of cake. It only takes a few minutes of soldering (my toddler could probably do it) and a USB port. This is an example of an A to A cable: Here's what you'll get in exchange for your old firmware: br>br>* Much easier to manage from a variety of platforms, including Mac, Linux, Windows, and others. br>* Compatible with older devices such as Amigas. br>* A full-color LCD can easily replace a basic LCD. Again, minor soldering skills were used to make the OLED screen. br>br>Overall, even if you stick with the stock firmware, you'll get a lot of bang for your buck.

It really works
5/5

Like the other reviews, mine did not come with software (though it is available online), but it is not required; simply plug in the flash drive you intend to use with the emulator and hold down both buttons when you boot the computer (or device), and the floppy emulator will partition and format the flash drive for the equivalent of 1000 floppies, then reboot for normal operationbr>br>.

There is no documentation, but it is available online
4/5

I worked with a SWF A-frame. I was able to get the T1201 embroidery machine to work on my SWF A-100 from 1999. If you're unfamiliar with the T 1201 embroidery machine, do a web search for it and you'll find plenty of pdfs of the manual, which is lacking, but there are several youtube videos and forums discussing it for a variety of products. To screw the jumper to the floppy plate, I had to place it across JA and rotate it 180 degrees. When you turn it on, plug in a FAT formatted 2GB or less flash drive and hold both buttons on the converter down. The folders on the drive will begin to be created. If the machine still won't turn on, wait for the drive to finish formatting the USB flash drive (by holding both buttons down while the power is turned on). Switch the power off and on again after it's finished, then let it boot normally. This is a replacement for the old floppy disks
4/5

The only low-cost alternative to physical floppy disk drives. This is a genuine Gotek model, but it does not come with software. This is required to partition your USB drive into blocks for use with multiple floppies. For more information, see Philscomputerlab's review. It does, however, work consistently. Custom firmware is also available, though flashing it necessitates the use of additional equipment. br>br>Quality of construction could be improved. The LED readout had not even been hotsnotted into place. Simply let go. So don't put too much pressure on it. It's difficult to find help or documentation.

With no color in the description and that photo, I assumed this was a white drive
3/5

br>br>This is a very gray drive, not even off-white. In retrospect, I could argue that the photo isn't white, but it's certainly not as dark as the product, which is clearly gray. br>br>Because this will stand out like a sore thumb in my white case, I'm leaving a negative review due to a poor description and photo that caused me to return the item. If you actually need a gray one, based on my black one, it should work great.

Instructions that are difficult to understand
3/5

I am unable to read or write in the Chinese language. For the most part, their emulator site is understandable, but the software's Help and FAQ are difficult to understand. It is not an easy task for them. After tossing the instructions out the window and experimenting, as well as finding a few review videos - I was finally able to make it work. The software is not intuitive, and you must perform a right-click operation after copying a file to the USB stick. If you don't click on the folder (floppy) and save, the file will not be written to the USB stick, and you will not receive any warning or error message if you don't. br>br>It works as it says - "USB to Floppy Emulator," but that may take a couple of martinis to believe. I'm not sure if there are any other products that are better. Free software and a low-cost product - What you pay for is exactly what you get.
