For the past 5 years, I've been using Chromebooks. I recently lost my "high end" touch screen, quad core chromebook, which was so impressive; it was fast, light, and had good battery life. After doing some research, I discovered this one for $200 refurbished. I needed something to fill the void before ordering another high ender, so I got it. Nope. This is something I'm going to stick with. It's quick, light, and accomplishes everything that chromebooks promised when they first launched. For online day-to-day activities, it connects to the internet/cloud. Continue shopping if you require all of the extras. Going back to the basics, on the other hand, was a welcome change for me. Only the backlit keyboard is something I miss.
"Refurbished," not "renewed," is the correct term. Selling through the back door. This was marked as "Renewed" on your website. That was the ad's final word. "Refurbished" is the proper term to use. As a gift, I would never buy something "refurbished. " I'm extremely disappointed. My grandson, on the other hand, appears to be content. so far - with the help of his gift I'm ashamed of myself. I can't believe I missed that one little word, "renewed," despite careful examination of the advertisement. Deceptive and sly.
This was purchased for my wife, who was previously using a Windows 10 laptop. Her usage pattern is 99% internet browsing and Skype to communicate with her European family. This chromebook excels at both tasks, has a long battery life, and is significantly less weight than a traditional laptop. The screen is a good size, and the image quality is excellent. For the money, this is a fantastic purchase. To save any files to removable storage, get a small 128 GB SD card to go with it.
Cool! I really like how this laptop works like a phone or tablet. Apps can be downloaded, but the screen is large enough to browse the internet. What I don't like is that there isn't a delete button, which isn't the same as the backspace button. Also, there is no caps lock button; however, there is a way to turn it on; however, it would be much easier if there was a caps button.
I emailed them several times and received no response. Obviously, they must do this for 5 stars, and most people forget or do not update their reviews. I was disappointed that they would lie to get reviews. I would have given 5 stars if they had honored their letter. I was happy with the lap top, but the customer service was terrible and there was no response.
The only difference between refurbished and new to me is the packaging box. The best option is Amazon's refurbishment, which is in pristine condition. Excellent screen quality, fanless Chromebook, all plastic but of high quality, fast and dependable, nearly 10 hours of normal use, HP quality.
One for my 50-year-old mother and another for my 75-year-old grandfather, who both adore them because Chrome OS makes them so simple to use.
There are no issues. I'm considering purchasing another.
