My friend's laptop was open when I watched a couple of youtube videos about opening laptops. I opened it and replaced the old keyboard (she had poured Mountain Dew on Putting it back together. I probably took about 25 to 30 minutes to complete the whole process because I fat-fingered the ribbon cable the first time. (1) Use a tiny magnetic phillips screwdriver to remove the tiny screws that hold the back of the laptop in place. (1) Make sure you put the screws in the same pattern as they came out as some of them are not exactly the same, even though they are similar.
My mother in law poured coffee on her laptop keyboard. It was broken but the rest of the machine worked. Took it home and found videos online to replace. Listened to them for 5 minutes. The installation process took 10 minutes, going slowly and carefully to make sure it was done I wanted a keyboard that fit perfectly and worked well, and that was what I got. Cheaper than having your machine thrown out, or having to send it back for repairs.
It fit perfectly where it needed to, all the keys work brilliantly and it felt just as durable as the original. If I could change anything it would be to include a small tool to help pry the old keyboard out. The keys are good and functional, and I tested them all. I highly recommend this purchase!.
Replacement keyboards like this are exactly what was needed to repair the computer. My only complaint about it is that it was poorly packaged. Once the old keyboard was replaced by this one, the user was once again able to type without an external USB keyboard. connecting the motherboard to the PC was torn around to the wrong side and sharply bent at the same time. The conductors may have suffered damage as a result of this. I am glad to report that.
In the event that a few keys on my laptop fell off, I had no intention of buying a whole new laptop. Perhaps I wouldn't have attempted the installation of the SSD if I hadn't already replaced the hard drive on my 15 with one. Simply remove the screw on the bottom of the laptop beside the keyboard icon this will take only a few seconds. Once you pull off the original one, make sure you do not tear the ribbon and use a prying tool (I had one in the tech tool kit I bought). Just be careful as there are few extra slacks to work with. It was easy to install and works well once it is installed. Almost all the keys work and register, and it feels like I can type faster with the keyboard than with the profile. As a whole, a good buy for the price.
Quality is evident in the build of this keyboard. The keys are firmly attached to the board, and the keys are so smooth that they fit right in with keyboards that cost a lot more. If my kids destroy their keyboards, I know where to go to get a new one. I know who I am going to buy it from when they do.
It is as good as the OEM keyboard. As of now, the fit, finish, and materials seem to be the same as the OEM keyboard. Can't speak to its longevity yet, but so far it seems to be working well. During boot-up, my laptop wouldn't start if the OEM keyboard ribbon was connected, so I ordered this to replace it. Everything worked fine for me, all keys worked, and the installation was smooth.
I had no trouble installing this keyboard, except that laptop manufacturers tend to use snaps to secure the case to the keyboard The keyboard doesn't work as well as the one I replaced, but it seems to be the same type as the one I replaced. I believe it was manufactured with clips rather than screws.
