JANRI Touchpad Trackpad Ribbon Flex Cable Replacement for MacBook Pro 13 Retina A1502 Early 2015 821-00184-A

I have a daughter with a 2015 13" macbook pro that was having issues with its keyboards responsiveness. Following a video that shows how the replacement process is completed. It was not that difficult to reassemble it. I did not get it to start again. When I panicked, I repeated it with the same result. A little search revealed at least one other person who also experienced this problem and were able to remove the cable and have it gone away. After I opened it up and unhooked the cable, it started up fine. I repeated it several times to verify that the problem is with the cable. My guess is that this cable I received was defective. Guess I will try another.

I have been having intermittent problems operating my MacBook Pro 2010, 2016, and now early 2015 computers. The basic problem was that the keyboard and trackpad stopped working upon opening, and after powering it on and off I encountered an error that said After restarting for about 10 times within a couple of days, the laptop would work fine for a while, but then it would start doing it again a few weeks later. It seemed to start happening after I opened the lid and closed it again, but I was unable to track any pattern A brief introduction. Having looked online, I learned a possible source of the problem was a failing ribbon cable that could be replaced with this part. When I bought the part, I also purchased the toolkit with the two screwdrivers and pry bar I needed (available at The year 1999). Putting it together took literally just 15 minutes, I simply removed the first few screws in the case, separated the two halves, removed two screws holding the cables, replaced the cables, and then put the PC I changed the cable and powered down and back up and then it worked fine. It has only been a week, so I'm not 100% certain that this was the answer, but the product itself is fine. I have seen other reviews that claim this cable is longer than the original. Although it is true that the cable is a little "longer" than it needs to be, you can bend it somewhere near the edge of the case I did it near the edge of the case because it seemed the best location but it was not very difficult.

In near-a-year of yelling at my Macbook, I did stuff most people find unpleasant. Sudden loss of keyboard and track pad without prior warning is a familiar scenario. Aside from the unpleasant words and subsequent discovery that if it was tapped hard enough it would jostle and work for a short period, I looked up this known issue ( shame on you Apple ) while the computer was working uninterrupted, Installed new cable, removed old cable and closed it up again. I took out screws, unclipped old cable, and installed new one. Although the cable was a bit longer than the original, installation was quick and easy, and the cable has been operating flawlessly for over 5 months. This is a highly recommended product.

Earlier this week, I had to replace the slightly swollen batteries on my MacBook Pro Early 2015 model. Here are the batteries I ordered from I was able to use an external USB keyboard as well as a Bluetooth keyboard. Upon doing some research on the Internet, I found that many people have had trouble with this cable, and perhaps I have led me to conclude that the keyboard circuitry was probably okay and that it was well worth my investment in it. The battery replacement must have been the cause of the cable failure, but it wasn't immediately evident. It was folded back out of the way after unplugging the small end of the cable. tape so that the end of the battery would not "flop around" when I worked with it. Although this care was taken, the item was still I have tried removing and replacing the original cable several times but I am unable to get the keyboard to work. It was also discovered that if the lock at the small end of the cable is not latches, the trackpad does not work as well. I saw a couple of pictures here and on other comments that indicate that the cable is about 1/4 inch too long when installed (as shown in the images). The solution I came up with was to bend a short "V" into BOTH ends of the cable at the connectors and push that "V" down into the gap between the battery and connector. I was concerned that the cable might be damaged, but it turned out to be fine. To bend the cable, I marked the spot on the cable where the bend was needed, then I took it out and bent After having installed the other end, I marked the opposite end with a marker. The cable was removed again, and the bend was made. My final step was to use a plastic tool so I could lower the bend into the space and plug the cable in. Even if you are skilled at mechanics, it will not be an easy task. Having readers' glasses, a magnifying glass, and being patient were the keys for me. Despite having to purchase an extra cable, I saved about $200 in the end.

Several people have already mentioned the fact that the cable is much too long for the location designed. As a result, it bulges in the middle when it is installed, and the back case of the computer stops working once it is installed. According to my reasoning, this occurs as a result of the torque produced by connecting the back case, which causes the bulging cable to separate from one of its ends.
