This is a very poor device, I've been using it for a couple months now, and if you pair it with your laptop it can be a decent device

Occasionally, however, it will lose its brain, in which case you must re-create it There's an absolute nightmare that you have to pair with this thing. This is an exorbitant price. Also, the device does not include a built-in battery, which would be an additional expense.

There are different applications for this, and it works pretty well. There are four different batteries to choose from, which cost around 8$ a pop and only one is needed. It has been working fine for me on the ROCs 809L and 827L for the past six years. I bought some 6dbi antennas for about $5 a set and I can hit them a little over 100 meters. The issue with ABB's products is that they have an initial baud rate, which is a minor issue where you may need to change Each time the system is rebooted or a new program is executed, the baud rate must be switched. It is not allowed to have a consistent baud rate for the initial and start up processes. This is best for Emerson "Remote Operations Controllers"*. Some PLCs, such as the compactlogix 1769 series, may also work.
