Questions & Answers

My drives only show up in half of the time. One of the sas connectors appears to be out of commission. Is there a way for me to get a copy of your bio?

It's possible that the cable is the source of the problem. If the problem persists, try swapping the cable from the working to the failing port.

Is it possible to use Windows 10 as a boot drive?

Yes. Due to the fact that it is a non-profit organization, You can use it as a boot drive if you have a raid card.

Can I use this pci on a computer as a data disk if I have two WD 10TB SAS disks?

It's a SATA card, not a PCIe card.

Will sas drives work with this?

No, only SATA is supported.

*The issue isn't BSD/Windows/Linux support; it's UEFI vs BIOS and IOMMU support; buyer beware, these cards aren't UEFI compliant, so you'll have to do it yourself

It will take a minute for Windows 10 to start up, and it will be difficult to manage cables
3/5

09/15/2019 The driver disk that came with the product was confusing because it included a lot of drivers that didn't have anything to do with this product. The Marvel/92XX driver is the one that this SI-92XX needs. My attempts at cable management were hampered by the fact that the included sata cables do not play nice in the cabinet space behind the motherboard; they are stiff, and closing my computer case was difficult because these cable bundles do not want to lay flat. 1903 18362 is the version of Windows 10 that has been released. Once you've connected the sata cables to the card and drives, the 356 will take a long time to boot up. The manufacturer and vendor provide no information about the 10 leds that light up on the card; on my card, only 9 of them light up, and I'm not sure why the tenth one doesn't. Due to the limited number of sata cables/drives that can be connected. What are the meanings of the other two leds? Aside from that, I've had no issues reading or writing data to my eight SATA drives.

In a PCIe 16 slot, it works perfectly
4/5

Yes, this is a PCI Express 2 card from the second generation. Yes, you can use a PCIe 16 card slot with a 0 card. That's fine; the question now is why does that make sense. Because on my FreeNAS 11, I don't need a graphics card. 3 motherboard, booted FreeNAS, and the card and its drives were instantly recognized. My MB? The Gigabyte B250 has a 4th generation Intel I7 processor and 32 MB of RAM. Things that were laying around are now consuming electrons and providing a nice home server that has been performing admirably on RaidZ2 4 1 ZFS is one of my favorite programs. Marvell's HBA cards have been chastised for not being able to communicate with FreeNAS. It was worthwhile to try Syba's card. It's something you should give a shot as well.

This is fantastic for FreeNAS! This 8-piece set was purchased by me
5/5

For use in my Haswell-based FreeNAS server, I purchased a port SATA expansion card. Unlike other cards I've tried, all eight ports are fully functional with FreeNAS. br>br>From mirrored disks, I'm getting 90-100MB/sec transfers, implying that the card can saturate my gigabit ethernet connection. br>br>The cables are extremely long, but they are also extremely thin, flexible, and easy to manipulate. br>br>I'm so happy with this card that I just ordered a second for a backup FreeNAS unit, and it's now listed as "unavailable. " " I'm hoping this is only temporary for the sake of the FreeNAS community. ".

a reasonable price - It's simple to set up
5/5

This product is designed to be used in a home server. The operating system has been installed on the computer. board M. 256GB Samsung SM951 NVMe in two slots. Server 2019 has been completely updated. In the pci-e slot, the card has been installed. A Gigabyte UEFI motherboard's x16 slot was used to connect eight pre-installed graphics cards. Dell enterprise hard drive that has been formatted When I turned on the computer, it recognized all of my drives and I didn't have to install any drivers. With ATTO, a single drive benchmark of 175 to 190 MB sustained read/write (16GB file size, default settings) was achieved. It's worth noting that the hard drives' spec sheets list the sustained speeds in the same order as they were tested. Marvel drivers were installed using the included CD. The read/write performance of the drive was retested, and the results were the same. Read/write performance (as measured by the pool) is unchanged with pooled drives using Stablebit Drivepool. I initially connected six drives and ran the benchmarks before installing this hardware for comparison purposes, and the performance of this device matched the onboard SATA 3 ports. Because I wanted to use eight drives and have them all connected to the same interface, I chose this card over the onboard option. DAT Optic (3) 5. Drives mounted in two DAT Optic (3) from 25 to 5 high-definition (HDD) hot-swap drives the enclosures are swapped In under 20 seconds, the system boots to the login screen. I'm satisfied so far.

Server 2019 is compatible
5/5

On Server 2019, I used this to pool drives with Drive Bender. Everything works as expected after you install the driver from the included mini CD. Depending on the chassis you have, The included SATA cable may not be long enough to reach all of the drives due to the drive bay layout.

I strongly advise against it! I'm not sure I understand this product; it's marketed as PCIe X4, but it appears to only support X1 speeds
3/5

This is more time consuming than using the on-board computer. I wanted a card that would let me connect and get SATA 3 speeds from multiple SSDs without having to use the motherboard's SATA 2 connectors, but this card is SLOWER than the motherboard's on-board SATA 2 connectors. When using more than one drive, use the SATA 2 connectors on the board.

It works flawlessly with TrueNAS
5/5

I built a new TrueNAS server from the ground up using a non-standard hardware configuration. Additional connections for all of the drives were required on the server motherboard. So far, I've been able to install 12 drives using this method. TrueNAS recognized all of the drives without requiring them to be re-installed. br>There is no need to flash the card or install additional drivers.
