Yes. We use it as an HBA card to connect our server to an external 24-bay JBOD, allowing us to see each disk individually. The disks are then used as a large array using Windows Storage Space.

I purchased two of these to use in my two servers, and they perform admirably. These require external connectors, which are more expensive, but I simply routed them back into the case through the next expansion slot to my Rosewill SATA racks. One of my motherboards wouldn't boot with this card unless the built-in SATA AHCI controller was disabled, so I threw in an extra SATA III PCI-Express card. The E x1 controller is used to boot the OS, and it works perfectly. The speeds are good, but these cards get very hot, so I recommend using a PCI slot cooling fan, as I did, to keep it cool.
I'm running Windows 10 and haven't had any problems so far. Using it to control an LTO-based storage device. br> Backups are stored on a total of six tape drives.
Perfect.
As part of the package, there is a low-profile bracket. Windows recognized the adapter after I installed it. I haven't had the opportunity to test the SAS enclosure yet, but so far everything has gone well. In addition, a low-profile bracket is included in the package.
